We're looking for at technical Sales Representative - come join our team of 'Heart working people' at Palsgaard A/S!

Do you have a solid technical background and can you make good results within technical sales of food ingredients in the global food industry (emulsifiers/stabilizers), then you might be our new colleague at Palsgaard US.

As part of strengthening Palsgaard’s sales organization we are searching for a technical Sales Representative to play a central role in strengthening and expanding our network with customers and distributors primarily in theMid-West territory, USA.We emphasize a professional dialogue with our customers, which requires a solid technical knowledge of product and application within the industry.

Objectives:

The Sales Representative is responsible for the identification, development, and servicing of sales and projects for Palsgaard products for customers and prospects in the United States and Canada. This role involves both the management of existing customer accounts and extensive prospecting to develop new customer accounts. The goal is to increase sales and revenue of the company by expanding sales of existing and new Palsgaard products.

This position is home office based, preferably in the Chicago area.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop sales opportunities through prospecting, qualifying, and providing solutions to existing and potential customers for the designated target market to meet corporate objectives and financial targets.
  • To support sales using new business development initiatives at major key accounts, as well as collaborating with the international business development teams.
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sales, sales contracts and service agreements.
  • Lead customer technical projects and work closely with application specialist to garner support for technical and commercial activities.
  • Participate in product launches, promotions, advertising and exhibitions.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Penetrate and build relationship with key technical/commercial decision makers leading new opportunities and projects.
  • Prepare presentations to aid in business development.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Food science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in technical sales experience in the food industry (Previous experience of selling technical value-added ingredients to companies within the food industry)
  • Knowledge in bakery, confectionery and dairy formulations and processes.
  • Good problem-solving skills and decision-making.
  • Proven sales record.
  • Home Office experience
  • Self-motivated/ team player
  • 40 to 50% of travel is required (combination of road and air). International travel will be required for training and seminar purposes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Notes and Teams required.
  • Desired experience with/in CRM systems, especially Microsoft CRM.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and organization skills

Territory:USA. Primarily Mid-West territory
