Use your big data expertise and make MHI Vestas more effective
Do you have experience with big data analysis? Are you able to present complex data to various stakeholders at different levels in the organisation? And would you like to join a department which is currently building a new set-up with the newest technologies?
The Performance & Diagnostics Team consists of highly skilled data analysts and data scientists working to consolidate all data from various measuring systems and IT-systems relevant to operations and condition monitoring of turbines to enable optimal utilisation of data. We strive to use the newest technology and are using a broad suite of products such as Azure cloud computing and Machine Learning, R, Python and Power BI.
Tasks & responsibilities: You will…
…be an expert in analysis and processing of wind turbine data for reporting and diagnostic purposes, e.g. performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, root-cause analysis and fault investigation. You will develop monitoring models for predictive and reliability-based maintenance, using various statistical and machine learning methods. To secure the best results, we expect that you have knowledge of turbine design and failure modes enabling you to create state-of-the-art results.
It is important that you can build and maintain good relationships with many different departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and improve performance from both a service operational as well as turbine data analysis aspect.
You will also be responsible for:
Analyse service operational data Work closely with our service teams to ensure follow-up, accuracy and effectiveness of tools and analysis Developing monitors to predict risks of turbine stops / lack of performance Analyse component failure data and failure rate Reporting and dashboard building/feeding Developing tools and control them to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the MHI Vestas O&M activities Ad-hoc support to the organisation regarding performance, failures or any WTG analysis through data processing
Skills & experience: Our new colleague…
…has a strong analytical mind-set and is driven by identifying and solving problems. You have at least 2 years of practical experience with big data and analysis of real data and predictive/prescriptive maintenance. It is very important that you have a good technical understanding of turbines. You are open-minded and possess good communication and English skills, so you can explain highly complicated and technical issues to non-experts. You are a natural networker and appreciate variation in tasks.

Have a master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or similar Can maintain a result- and quality-oriented focus Have experience with big data Have experience with R, Python, SQL and Power BI Are a proactive and self-motivated team playe
