If so, we offer an exciting position as Statistician in CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls) Development.
About the Department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D family, CMC Development makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials which is a complicated journey that requires about 10 years of dedicated work in CMC Development.
The job is anchored in the department CMC Training & Statistics, whose key mission is to execute strategic initiatives across CMC together with highly competent colleagues across the organisation within training and through statistical support and process optimisation. We are 12 highly engaged colleagues with different scientific background, ranging from administrative coordinators, project manager, process governance specialist and statisticians.
The department is part of the function CMC Operations & Strategy Execution that delivers specialised support to CMC Development. We value creativity, innovation and the ability to work with people of different backgrounds and focus on standardising and optimising work processes by using a data approach. You have ample opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills as well as influencing your job.
The position
As a Statistician in CMC Development, you support the development of products, manufacturing processes and analytical methods together with four competent statistician colleagues. You cooperate with colleagues of other areas of expertise across the organisation to solve their problems using explorative statistical methods. Good solutions balance business needs and quality requirements, and close collaboration with stakeholders is needed to ensure this.
You can look forward to a broad variety of tasks. In particular, you deliver and present statistical solutions in a clear language and ensure that they are used as intended. You document your analyses in reports and make scientific review of your colleagues’ analyses and reports. You develop and teach courses and workshops in statistical topics e.g. Applied statistics. You may also work in improvement projects across CMC Development where the statistical tools used often are linear mixed models, design of experiments, general explorative statistics and statistical process control. Involvement in initiatives related to mathematical modelling, machine learning and simulation will also occur.
It is important that you are curious by nature in terms of new technologies and have an interest in areas like e.g. machine learning, digitalisation etc.
Qualifications
You have a strong background in mathematical statistics as Master's in Science or Ph.D. in statistics, physics, engineering or equivalent. Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience from a similar position in the pharmaceutical industry with a proven track record. You have experience with SAS for Windows and maybe also experience with SAS JMP, Python and MATLAB. Lastly, you speak and write English and preferably also Danish fluently.
As a person, you are by nature curious and interested in other scientific disciplines. You value being part of a team, where we support each other in statistical matters and in delivering when deadlines are tight. You attend to details and are systematic in your work, while also focusing on how to simplify complex matters so as to communicate clearly with other scientists, management or regulatory authorities. You work independently and with high engagement.
