The Maersk Decarbonization team together with Maersk Technology aims to drive Maersk’s emissions to zero as fast as practically and commercially possible. Digital technologies – and StarConnect specifically – are a key enabler in this journey.
We are looking for junior and senior software developers, specializing in back-end and full stack, to join us on this journey! You will be a member of one of the teams responsible to drive digital solutions, that empower vessels to produce the energy at the lowest cost and environmental footprint.

You will engage within our development teams and with our users on vessels and shore and will impact outcomes in the sphere of energy and CO2 emissions optimization.

In addition, you would be expected to:
• Work with a talented and highly engaged team of engineers, designers, vessel SME’s and product owners.
• Develop great quality software products, with a continuous focus on both business value and technical sustainability.
• Participate in design decisions and drive features to completion.
• Work with your team and relevant stakeholders to find the right solutions to the right problems.
• Take part in the backend architectural discussions within the team and participate in architectural discussions across teams.
• Be willing to be challenged and learn new skills, be adaptive and agile in mind.
These technical requirements make you a strong fit for the role(s):
• Strong experience working with at least one of the following languages: Go (our primary BE language), C/C++, Java, C#, Python. React experience is a plus.
• Background in the development of modern web applications and APIs.
• Good familiarity with web server applications, web protocols, authentication, authorization.
• Highly skilled in writing unit & integration tests across all components; an advocate for automated testing.
• Experience with modern cloud architecture (microservices, event-driven architecture) as well as major cloud provider services (AWS, GC, Azure).
• Experience with standard DevOps practices, including Docker/Kubernetes, and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• Working with infrastructure as code.
• Expertise with DBMS-related development; proficiency with SQL.
• Good social skills, ability to successfully collaborate with people of different personalities, backgrounds and ways of working. A team focused mindset and active contribution to a fun, collaborative work environment.
