Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology & Security Architecture, the Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect will have an instrumental role within Maersk Technology.

You will work collaboratively, through a trusted business partnering approach, acting as the link between business and technology and leveraging key relationships to ensure strategic alignment through the requirements of business strategy, transformation and technology direction to define the future state.

Key responsibilities

•Develop and maintain Maersk’s enterprise cloud first strategy, with clear links to business outcomes
•Document the architecture roadmaps for the product & platform teams, including principles and guardrails
•Leapfrog Maersk’s cloud maturity through co-creation with SCRUM teams
•Participate in key contract negotiations ensuring that Enterprise alignment is anchored within the contracts
•Identify and champion new capabilities & technologies for further development and the maturity of cloud
•Orchestrate cloud benchmarks & maturity assessments for new business requirements
•Drive transformation initiatives around cloud incl. hackathons
•Play an active role in improving the Employee Value Proposition to attract and retain cloud talent

•Adoption of cloud native application architectures by partnering with delivery teams

15+ years of experience of technology transformation with large enterprises; focused on Product Development, Product Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Architecture frameworks, Implementation and Consulting.

With your world class people skills, financial acumen and followship you are able to translate highly complex problems into business context and modern application architectures.
You balance risk with value when linking business processes and capabilities to strategic technology capabilities, and your excellent partner/vendor management skills ensure reduced overall complexity and TCO through modernization of our landscape.

Critical Competencies:
•In-depth knowledge of cloud-native architectures, cloud technology, cloud security and refactoring of legacy architectures.
•Strong understanding of the cloud ecosystem and the key players.
•Deep understanding of the business domain and financial acumen besides the relevant IT architecture/IT systems.
•Microservice based architectures and secure-by-design development.(DEVSECOPS)
•Skilled stakeholder and people manager with the ability to communicate complex messages, constructively challenge Product Owners and related stakeholders.
•Enterprise strategic thinking in a complex environment with large degree of ambiguity.
•Needs to have a solid understanding of agile system development at Enterprise scale like SAFE or SCRUM etc.
•Excellent at vendor management with sound commercial acumen.
•Knowledge of Azure, GCP, AWS, Alibaba including their strengths and weaknesses.
