- Management of the internal teams and external vendor base to ensure that SLAs and KPIs are hit with respect to incidents, requests, change and problem management processes.
- Lead and leverage technical skills to effectively and efficiently manage shared cloud services technology and personnel as well as utilise knowledge and experience with engineering and operations to drive the services forward.
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Ensure the delivery of modern operational practices including a high degree of automation and application of best practices to manage large scale cloud infrastructure environments.
- Oversee the liaison between your team and the platform functions to ensure that the services and projects being delivered on behalf of platform units are supported and able to transition to live in a supportable and timely manner.
- Make recommendations to the Technology leadership team around enhancements and improvements that can be driven across the organisation including creation of supporting documentation or business cases when required.
- Actively manage roadmaps to ensure tech debt is avoided or treated.
- Solicit feedback from service consumers, understand it and own and manage a backlog of service improvement activity and actively communicate to the customer base as you deliver progress.
- Ensure platform architecture and implementation is optimized for speed, scalability and reusability
- Apply tools and standard methodologies for the improvement of the product development process, and to facilitate simple fast cloud-based releases
- Maintain the service catalogue for your services to ensure accurate and appropriate information about their performance and limitations is available to inform the best decision making by the teams considering use of your services.
- Participate in formal and informal operational meetings with your vendor base to ensure they are delivering in line with contractual commitments and you are continually partnering with the strategic suppliers to evolve and improve the services delivered.
- Identification of risks and capability to work with stakeholders to communicate, score and agree mitigation plans associated with them.
- Ensure adequate IP and knowledge exists within the Maersk service ownership and SME organisation.
- Act as an escalation point for projects, leadership or customers for matters relating to your services.
- Participate in leading and help drive strategic initiatives across the whole of the Cloud & Infrastructure organisation beyond the borders of your own organisation or service.

Technical:
- Should have total IT experience of 15+ years, which includes at least 7 years cloud operations and engineering experience with one or more cloud hyperscaler services– ideally Azure
- Experience of open source cloud platforms and private cloud environments.
- Solid technical background in all cloud services, covering PaaS, IaaS and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in automated agile environments delivering infrastructure, monitoring and tooling to a complex on-prem and multi-cloud ecosystem
- Solid infrastructure technical background covering Virtualisation, Server Technology (Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux), Middleware, Database and storage/backup technologies.
- Deep understanding and working knowledge of building high-availability, fault-tolerant, resilient and scalable solutions in cloud
- Modern devops and agile ways of working experience.
- Configuration management and continuous delivery understanding and experience in operating e.g chef, puppet, ansible, terraform, Jenkins as examples.
