Blue Ocean Robotics – a Robot Venture Factory in Odense, Denmark – develop and build mobile service robots within the health, hotel, construction and agriculture sector. For example the disinfection robot UVD Robots and the patient moving robot Multi-Tower. Blue Ocean Robotics supply all our venture companies, who are selling the service robots, with high quality robots on-time in a volume that is about to scale.
We are looking for an Embedded Firmware Developer with some years of experience, who can join our journey for making the service robots of the future. The Embedded Firmware Developer works at the lowest levels of our software stack stack to interface the and is responsible for design and development of the necessary embedded firmware for the robot.
You will be a part of a team that develops the next generation of our UVD Robots, expanding the field of use and level of autonomy so the robot can perform more tasks independently, for instance allowing disinfections to continue outside normal working hours. You will work closely with other experts within other areas of mobile robotics, learning from the best in the field.
As an Embedded Firmware Developer in Blue Ocean Robotics, you will have a unique opportunity to influence both product development and future technology platforms of the company. The Embedded Firmware Developer will be part of the mechatronics skill group and report to the Vice President of Robot technology.
Your profile
We expect some years of experience and a proven track record as an Embedded Firmware Developer from a relevant industry. You will become responsible for design and development of embedded firmware on bare metal, RTOS in a Linux environment.

Need to have experience for the position:
- Solid skills in Embedded C/C++
- Strong understanding of linux busybox and Linux in general
- Embedded Linux /Yocto Project
- 32bit/64bit microcontrollers, SOM and SOCs
- Hardware/software communication interface protocols e.g. RS232, RS485, RS422, CAN bus, Ethernet, MODBUS, CANOpen, I2C, SPI
- Integrating multiple sensors and actuators
- Linux arm development toolchain
- Previous work in FreeRTOS/LwIP/Nuttx
Nice to have experience:
- ROS knowledge
- Python Programming
- Understanding of commonly used sensors, motor control
- Knowledge on industrial networking
- MISRA C/C++ guideline
