Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of smart metering solutions with headquarters in Stilling south of Aarhus. Our ambition is to turn meter data into insight to help utility companies optimize their production and distribution of energy and water and was in 2022 awarded with the innovation prize by Dansk Industri (DI). Kamstrup’s water business is undergoing rapid development, which means that the requirements and demands for our smart solutions targeting the water industry are growing. We are therefore looking for a Lead Software Architect, who can contribute to the development of our future solutions.
With direct reference to our Head of Software Development, you will become a part of a dedicated team of 15 colleagues in our Software Development department. At Kamstrup, we are committed to setting the technological agenda in our industry, and as such, we actively embrace the latest technologies. We are moving towards a microservice-based application landscape with a platform-oriented approach. Our team is characterized by an informal approach to our daily tasks. In the team there is a high skill level, the team members are responsible and focus on striking a balance of high efficiency and high quality.
A job with focus on architecture and innovative technologies
As Lead Software Architect, your primary responsibility will be evolving our solutions for data collection from our customers' infrastructure, with the goal of processing high volumes of messages, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and security as key solution attributes. You will also act as a link towards our business and in collaboration with stakeholders including Product managers, HW engineers, and Solution architects, gather requirements, define interfaces, and finally translate them into technical solutions with the team. Thereby, you will help drive the cross-functional teams to define software architecture and design solutions for our IoT-enabled smart metering solutions and data acquisition systems.
More specifically you will:
Personality matters
We imagine that you hold Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field and have a proven track record as Software Architect or a similar role with at least 3 years of experience. You have strong expertise in designing and developing scalable software architectures for large-scale distributed systems and a solid understanding of IoT protocols, communication protocols, and/or security protocols. Furthermore, experience with cloud platforms and knowledge of data acquisition systems, and low-latency data processing is key to succeeding in this role. You have a solid foundation in working with technologies such as C#, .NET Core, SQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, Containers, Gitlab, and Cloud (Azure).
As a person you have an interest in software design and architecture, high-volume transmission of data, API design, data platforms, and security. You are open and curious, which enables you to co-create and collaborate with many different stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. You naturally share your knowledge and enjoy having technical discussions and thereby reach new goals with the teams you cooperate with. You hold an eye to details and use your take on best practices, and patterns to push improvement in code quality, developer experience, and efficiency to lead the development forward.
You are fluent in English both written and spoken. Danish is an advantage.

- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to IoT, smart metering, and high-volume data systems
