JOIN OUR ENGINEERING SOFTWARE SECTION IN LYNGBY

In Group IT we support more than 7000 internal users in more than 80 sites around the world. We are operating in a challenging environment, where BIM and technical applications are the primary production tools in COWI. These tools are under constant development due to constant technological advances in the areas and our businesses requirements for up-to-date and state-of-the-art tools. This demands for close cooperation and problem solving with the rest of the 125 colleagues in Group IT, primarily located in Lyngby and Vilnius. Group IT delivers value to the business through professional IT services.

The section is responsible for procuring, managing and supporting COWI's portfolio of BIM, GIS and other technical software products from amongst others Autodesk, Bentley, Trimble and ESRI. Together they constitute some of COWI's most business-critical applications, representing over 3 million man-hours worldwide every year and therefore carry a very high degree of business and management focus. The section also delivers resources for both scoping and execution of development projects initiated under COWI's digitalization strategy. Anchored in a central Digitalization Team (GDTT), the projects aim at changing both project processes and deliveries throughout the COWI organization and cover all phases from ideation to development and operation.

With the increased demand for custom built solutions, we are now looking to strengthen the team with a Tech lead. We will expect you to manage a portfolio of development and maintenance initiatives as well as the development team on day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that the architecture is sound and that we're implementing the necessary standards and best practices to ensure the quality of our deliveries. As the development team is still under construction, we expect you to participate in setting direction and defining the ways of working in collaboration with colleagues from both Group IT and GDTT. The position will be located in either Lyngby or Vilnius and you will join a global team of professionals in an international setting with colleagues in Lithuania, Denmark and Norway. You will report to the Head of Section for Engineering Software, located in Lyngby.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Be Group IT's representative in digitalisation projects, primarily as architect support and participating in defining the technical solutions
  • Manage several concurrent technical development projects while maintaining a portfolio of mature applications
  • Collaborate with colleagues from Group IT to deliver the right skills to the prioritised initiatives
  • Be the senior who can lead, support and challenge the developers to deliver on projects and grow their skills
  • Participate in defining standards and best practices for software development in Group IT

COWI is a leader within our field, because our employees are leaders within theirs. We invite you to learn from the best and expand your potential in an outstanding environment, where we collaborate on shaping tomorrow's societies. Alongside your manager, you outline the path for your development and build your expertise on a day-to-day basis, working on global assignments.

YOUR SKILLS. OUR TEAM. TOGETHER, WE DESIGN THE FUTURE

Your skills are the key to our success. Working across borders and disciplines, we share knowledge and build strong relationships with colleagues and customers. You contribute your expertise and get to learn from the best.
