Head of Communications in Digital Science & Innovation (DSI) The position This role which sits as part of the DSI Digital Strategy and Change Management Team, will head the Communications team of experts working closely with both DSI leadership and cross-functional teams within DSI Areas. The focus is driving effective internal and external communications on the DSI vision and initiatives focused on the digitalization of research and early development. Your primary role will be to lead a team of communication experts and to drive communication activities that support the strategic agenda for our area. The position embraces a wide range of tasks and includes the following different competencies, but will not be limited to: Developing a robust communications strategy and implementation plan in partnership with other DSCM groups, such as the change management office. Developing new or improved processes and tools to support internal and external communications with the highest quality and efficiency to enable a high-performing team Communicating the direction and strategy of the DSI organization in partnership with the Leadership. Ensuring that the communications team is meeting project and initiative-specific goals and remain aligned with the overall strategic objectives of DSI. Recruits, onboard, trains and develops communication team members. Ensures the development and conceptualization of campaigns, and communication materials, that motivate the team to produce clear and strong communication. Overseeing the development, planning and execution of inspiring internal events like live stream sessions and summits. Overseeing the production of inspiring and creative communication content for external media and internal channels (e.g., Yammer posts, videos, presentations, writing articles, etc.) You will be a Communication Leader in DSI supporting the leaders and acting as advisor and sparring partner on internal and external matters. Furthermore, you will become a member of the cross functional R&ED communication network sharing learnings and secure coordinated communication efforts across the R&ED. Qualifications To succeed in this role: You hold at least a bachelor’s degree (in digital, computer science, and/or science-based). 8+ years of experience within communications - specifically with a background in Communications, PR, or a related field and 3+ years of line management. Ideally, you have worked with corporate storytelling and are proficient in different platforms and their potential to reach our audience. You are fluent in oral and written English and have a strategic mindset, can juggle multiple tasks, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of drive and self-motivation. You enjoy building teams, multi-level stakeholders and thrive in dynamic environments. You have deep knowledge of Office365, especially SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, and PowerPoint, as well as skills in photo and video editing that you use to put together compelling content that is also visually appealing. You thrive in being both a strategic adviser and operational at the same time and are motivated by the many exciting communication tasks that are involved in a research organisation, with innovative discoveries and exciting news created regularly. About the department You will be a part of the Digital Strategy & Change Management area that is driving our digital transformation based on robust strategic thinking, portfolio management of digital projects, utilization of a project and change management to ensure that we can amplify and accelerate scientific innovation.
