European Energy is a green company in exponential growth. In 2022, we welcomed 270 new colleagues, and we are now around 700 colleagues globally. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar, wind and Power-to-X globally. You will be a part of quite a diverse department. Group Risk Management & Insurance covers everything from insurance to QHSE on to Claims and contingency/emergency response strategies and Risk Transfer. Thinking ahead and ensuring the most sustainable, safe, and continuous way of business possible is what connects all of our different fields. As a cross functional department, we work with almost all departments in the company – because our expertise and areas of work affects everything and everyone. Our goal is to create a solid synergy across the company from timely risk analyses and insurance policy placing to a safe and well-choreographed operations phase, and finally insisting on constantly improving through evaluations and lessons learned.
We are 10 colleagues in the team, most of us based in Copenhagen, but a few colleagues based in Southern Jutland, Northern Jutland, and the UK. We support each other across specialist areas, and we like to have a good laugh.
As our new Head of Business Resilience, you are responsible for enhancing and implementing Business Continuity, Emergency Management/Operations, and Incident Response Programs, including designing, implementing, and coordinating Incident Response, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery exercises, drills, and training with internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, you ensure that the company and subsidiaries are compliant with the Danish and local laws on contingency, and continuously improve the contingency and emergency response materials and awareness to the maximum.
More specifically, your key responsibilities include:
European Energy is a Danish privately owned company founded in 2004. We operate from the development, construction, operation, and selling of wind- and photovoltaic (PV) farms on land as well as offshore globally. Further, we work with the development of future energy solutions, e.g., Power-to-X. We have a solid collaboration with local stakeholders and want to involve all parts of the process.
We have 700 employees with 44 nationalities represented in 21 countries. We all work for our common goal to be the most innovative partner within the green transition and to create The Power of Tomorrow, Today.

Your new role
As our new Head of Business Resilience, you are responsible for enhancing and implementing Business Continuity, Emergency Management/Operations, and Incident Response Programs, including designing, implementing, and coordinating Incident Response, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery exercises, drills, and training with internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, you ensure that the company and subsidiaries are compliant with the Danish and local laws on contingency, and continuously improve the contingency and emergency response materials and awareness to the maximum.
More specifically, your key responsibilities include:
- You maintain and ensure timely updates of all appropriate documentation including Incident Response and Business Continuity policies, plans, on-call lists, regulatory compliance evidence, and after-action reviews.
- You develop and present information to promote incident response preparedness and resiliency as core values.
- You consume and communicate relevant threat intelligence regularly.
- You handle all aspect of project management from start to finish, including executing and steering cross departmental meetings and processes to get the material and the decisions made that are needed for your projects.
- You create communicatively clear and situationally adjusted materials to use in times of crisis.
- You host audits by the authorities.
- You grow and maintain strong, constructive relationships with authorities, and other internal and external parties.

It would be great if
- You have in depth knowledge of crisis management, business continuity, emergency management, incident analysis, and incident response management from a similar position within the emergency response field and preferably in a global corporate setting.
- You have great communication skills both written and oral in Danish and English.
- You are a team player who understands that resilience is a field that interconnects with many different departments and areas, and you have a willingness to understand the needs of others.
- You are a storyteller that can convince others of why contingency and preparing for worst case scenarios is important even though is it not always the highest priority for the other party.
- You have the ability to organize and distill complex technical concepts into simple and easy-to-understand instructions and action items during an incident.
- You can speak effectively before a broad range of groups of stakeholders, business partners, and employees in all areas of the organization
