NACELLE & HUB CIM (Continuous Improvement Management) Engineering

The overall purpose of the CIM Engineering department is to drive down warranty cost for Vestas by providing fast feedback to our service organization when issues occur and driving the root cause analysis and solution improvement. The team consists of Project Managers, Technical Leads and Implementation management handling quality and warranty issues in the field. Situated in Aarhus, Porto and Chennai. Collaboration is the foundation as we work closely with module design owners and functional leads, the service organization, construction, factories and procurement, finance and QSE.

We are very versatile as we are covering all the components in the turbine from main components like blades, gearboxes, electrical and structural parts down to small brackets and cabinet covers. Apart from the root cause phase activities will take a lot of involvement of the entire value chain, like finance, legal, suppliers, service and installation which requires a true team player who can drive and plan for success.

The CIM process framework is tailored around the DMAIC process to ensure quality and clear project scope on all CIM cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate failures reported from turbines in field by collaborating with site technicians and design engineers.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and identify impact on fleet in short and long term to reduce effect of failure
  • Make alignment with all affected stakeholders like: Module owners, service, Construction, legal, finance etc.
  • Dialogue with the supplier/ manufacture of the affected component
  • Drive development of improvement solution. Testing specifications for solution.
  • Prepare inputs for customer and stakeholder communication and inputs for Business Case
  • Initiate creation of necessary Design Change Orders and update DFMEA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of industry experience
  • Field experience in Wind Industry especially with Vestas WTGs will be preferred
  • Experience with DMAIC improvement cycle, Six-Sigma, SCRUM and gate models would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to multi-culture and international organisations is preferred

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge in working with Engineering drawings / Electrical circuit drawings.
  • Usage of CAD tools and SAP
  • Good communicator – verbal and in written
  • Fluent in English - written and oral
  • Good analytical skills are required
  • Self-motivated and target driven - proactive and enthusiastic with good attention to detail and willingness to take ownership
