The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing Company Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Management System.
The QHSE Manager will be fully responsible for implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioural practices at all levels of the organization. This position provides QHSE guidance to the organization and supports the operation process in order to maintain and continually improve the safety culture and performance, in line with the organization’s needs to comply with business objectives in the short, medium and long terms and in accordance with the terms of our various contracts and the Integrated Management System.

Key responsibilities
• To cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Assist the leadership team to develop, manage and monitor the QHSE performance of the company.
• Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
• Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding QHSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
• Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company’s accreditations
• Responsible for Company’s QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations
• Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements
Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.
• Develop a quality program for the customer account and be the Maersk POC towards customer Quality
• Conduct QHSE training courses using internal and external resources when required.
• Maintain awareness of evolving industry QHSE regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company’s operations.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for QHSE matters.
• Produce further analysis and reports as may be required by the SCA HSSE Manager, Directors, or HPI management from time to time.
• Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
• Offer QHSE consultancy to the Company’s subsidiaries and affiliates when required
We are looking for
• Background within the HSEQ field and at least 5 years of experience
• A strong passion for keeping our people safe and desire to ensure that; ‘Maersk is a safe place to work’
• A strong passion for quality systems and policy enablement that changes people behaviour.
• Having sound knowledge of local HSSE legislations applicable to logistics industry
• Good understanding of risk management principles and application of barriers and critical controls
• Understand how to adapt logistics activities, flows, relationships and address constraints
• Background within the logistic industry and been working with frontline operations, i.e., warehouses.
• Ability to drive initiatives through cross functional teams
• Fluency in English and preference for local language spoken and written
• Facilitation skills and ability to influence.
• Ability to drive alignment with the key stakeholders.
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• High ethical standards.
