APM Terminals is an important link between Scandinavia and the world market, and we operate Scandinavia's two largest container terminals. We are the only ones with the capacity to receive and handle the largest ocean-going vessels. APM Terminals Nordics handle more than 50% of imports and exports in Denmark and Sweden.
We are now looking for a leader that is responsible for the financial health of the organization and will lead and drive the Finance function. This is a key role within the organization that aims to be a trusted partner to the MD, and actively engages and contributes to business decisions.

As Head of Finance for our Nordic organization, you will lead the finance function for the terminal through accountability of accounting, control & risk, planning and performance management, corporate governance. You will be responsible for the execution of legal compliance and procurement, and to establish strategies and initiatives that supports the business strategy.
You will report into Regional Head of Finance and are a key member of the Nordic Management Team. You will in this role have great opportunities to contribute to APM Terminal's future development.
Key responsibilities
As the Head of Finance Nordics, you have the full financial responsibility for the three Nordic terminals of APM Terminals, in Gothenburg, Kalundborg and Aarhus. You enjoy working both on a strategic level as well as leading a committed team of professionals.
Your main tasks will be:
- Creating long-term finance department with strategic plans which align with the APM Terminals strategic plan and business plan.
- Overseeing business financial management, accounting processes, and identifying areas which need improvement.
- Creating and executing the business investment strategy, monitoring, and adjusting for risk when necessary.
- Ensuring impeccable and detailed financial records; overseeing that taxes and record filing are done correctly according to standards in both countries.
- Identifying patterns in company spending and revenue; create and propose solutions to any problem areas.
- Conducting and cooperating with internal and external financial audits.
- Liaising and collaborating with stakeholders and management team, providing advice, recommendations, and progress reports.
- Leading and building a strong team by attracting and retaining talents.
We are looking for
As Head of Finance Nordics you have a master’s degree in finance, business administration, economics or a similar field along with 10–15-year professional qualifications experience in different finance mgmt roles.
You have proven experience of leading and owning a finance strategy in line with the business strategy. You have experience of leading transformation within the finance function but also across functions and multiple locations. You are a clear leader who delegate and give your employees great responsibility. You are an excellent communicator, and you can present and push through ideas and decisions in a convincing and humble way. You enjoy being in a dynamic and global environment that share best practices with other APM terminals.
The role will also require that you travel between the entities. As we belong to a global group, we assume that you have good language skills in English and preferably in Danish, both in speech and in writing.
