Head of HSE, APM TERMINALS

We offer:

We are now looking for a Head of HSSE who will support the COO to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented in accordance with agreed strategy. As our Head of HSSE you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations are done in compliance with applicable standards, local and international laws, and regulations. You will manage a team of HSE employees and be responsible for their continued training and training of the remaining organisation. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all sub-contractor activities within the premises as well as daily operations are done in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create HSE strategy with Terminal Management Team (TMT)

  • Create Framework, risk profile, compliance level and business drivers

  • Inspire TMT to deliver HSSE vison and strategy

  • Support TMT to co-create HSE improvement plans, and create understanding of operational/business risks

  • Empower Operational teams to have day-to-day HSSE focus

  • Ensure HSE reflects latest legislation

  • Support COO – Projects in Operations and Asset Maintenance

  • Support TMT to implement and mitigate the HSE framework around Contractor Management, and create framework with procurement regarding vendors

  • Design structure around governance and other business to raise awareness

  • Investigate incidents including Fatality, HiPo, LTI etc.

  • Create compliance program to ensure APMT Denmark is up to date.

  • Strengthen HSE Culture

  • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support across the TMT


We are looking for:

  • BSc/MSc Health and Safety discipline

  • Solid experience in health and safety at a senior level with a proven track record in the delivery of business objectives

  • An advanced health and safety qualification such as the NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Chartered member of IOSH (CMIOSH)

  • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills

  • PMP qualification

  • Fluent in English

  • ISO 9001:2015 | ISO 14001: 2015 | ISO 45001: 2016

  • Lead Auditor Certification

  • Environmental Qualification

  • BCM ISO22301 lead implementer (desirable)

  • Security / Risk Management qualification (desirable)

  • ISPS Code (desirable)

  • Quality qualification (desirable)
