We are now looking for an ambitious, customer focused Head of Commercial to join our team. Reporting to the Managing Director of the Nordic Terminals, you’ll be responsible for Nordics which consists of our terminals in Aarhus and Kalundborg in Denmark and Gothenburg in Sweden. You’ll lead a team of nine based across the Nordic terminals, and be part of the Nordics Management Team, as well as a key member of the global Commercial community.

As our Head of Commercial you’ll be responsible for setting and executing the Nordics commercial strategy, ensuring effective shorter and longer-term business results and customer outcomes

Responsibilities include:

  • Full Commercial portfolio, including products and services, revenue, sales, marketing, customer attraction and care, and achievement of financial and non-financial targets
  • Translate Nordics strategy into effective plans for products & services, revenue & cost management, sales & marketing, and customer care, reviewing and optimising on an ongoing basis as needed
  • Lead and role model a customer-focused mindset across the organisation, ensuring that the customer is surfaced and at the forefront of all relevant decisions
  • Cultivate ongoing in-depth and data-based insights regarding local customers, market (supply, demand, utilisation) and competitors (capabilities, products, services, and delivery).
  • Lift positioning of Nordics terminals, leveraging opportunities to deliver as part of a regional and global network as an integrator of supply chains, rather than solely as individual terminals.
  • Explore, design, develop and implement business opportunities, products, services and revenue streams to drive the Commercial strategy, in line with or exceeding targets.

We are looking for:

  • Advanced degree in business, marketing, or related discipline

  • Sound business acumen, particularly financial, commercial, and operational understanding of global supply chain

  • Solid experience in leading a strategic Commercial team, in a global and matrix B2B or B2C organisation with successful and ongoing change and transformation

  • Exceptional customer focus, consistently leveraging customer insights to drive decisions and achieve business results

  • Have a strategic mindset, with proven experience in setting strategy and balancing shorter and longer-term goals

  • Able to see the big picture while balancing necessary details and makes decisions based on data

  • Strong interpersonal skills and inspire, engage, and influence diverse people and capabilities to achieve extraordinary results

  • Manage change and uncertainty well while also supporting others to excel

  • Experience in transport, terminal or shipping is an advantage

  • Fluency in English and either/both Danish and Swedish is required


The position requires ongoing presence, visibility and engagement across all Nordic terminals, thus regular travel is expected.
