The current Director has been appointed to a position as local CFO in one of our international affiliates. Thus, we are in the process of identifying a strong leader to take up the role as Sourcing Director of Production, IT and Facilities in Novo Nordisk Corporate Procurement.

About the function

Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. Corporate Procurement consists of 150 employees based in Denmark and India, and globally 500 people work in procurement. Corporate Procurement is anchored with direct report to the CFO of Novo Nordisk.

The position
As Director for Production, IT and Facilities categories, you will be heading up a team of 20 highly talented employees, including two Managers. Further to this, you will work in close collaboration with our colleagues in the rest of Global procurement as well as our stakeholders in Production, IT and Facilities.

The team is responsible for developing global category strategies, identifying and executing key improvement projects with focus on our cost base, optimising sourcing excellence practices and increase utilisation of digitalisation in procurement, and managing our key suppliers and contracts – covering a global spend of 4 bDKK.

You will report to the Corporate Vice President of Corporate Procurement and will be part of both Corporate Procurement Management Group and Global Procurement Leadership Team and we expect you to help drive the overall performance of the area and of the global, functional organisation.

Key success criteria will be your ability to effectively drive the Novo Nordisk procurement agenda and to interact with multiple senior stakeholders across Novo Nordisk, interact with senior leadership for many of our large, international suppliers, manage and develop a team of sourcing professionals and make values-based decisions in line with the Novo Nordisk values. Furthermore, your ability to work fact-based with quantitative data, uphold high professional standards in deliverables, and a solid business understanding will be crucial for your success.

Qualifications
You have completed a master’s degree (e.g. in economics, business administration, engineering or supply chain management) with a top 15% GPA. You have 5-8 years of experience from working with procurement, IT, finance, strategy or business development in a leading organisation or as a management consultant from a top tier consultancy. You take leadership naturally and have high professional expectations for you and your colleagues. You have an international mindset, you communicate clear and concisely, and you are comfortable in giving presentations to senior management. Finally, you work fluently in English.
