Y-mAbs is a rapidly growing late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel, antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer. The company has a broad and advanced product pipeline, including two pivotal-stage product candidates, which targets tumors, that have the potential to be launched this year.
The Global Medical Director Translational Medicine will serve as a key leader within Oncology Translational Sciences, contributing to the overall translational assets’ strategies across multiple oncology approaches and you will report to SVP, CSO, Global Head Translational Medicine.
Your main tasks are:
Your qualifications are + 5 years of work in the pharmaceutical industry and superior therapeutic area knowledge and solid understanding of emerging research in designated therapeutic area (if applicable). Clinical development and/or translational/experimental medicine expertise is strongly preferred. Moreover, clinical development experience should be in academia and/or industry, including early clinical trial design and implementation, documentation/filing. Clinical patient care experience in medical oncology is preferred together with a minimum of 5 years postdoctoral basic or translational research experience in either academic and/or in an industry setting. Finally, you must have a demonstrated record of cutting-edge research as evidenced by first or senior authored publications in top tier journals.
You have a MD or PhD/MD degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. haematology/oncology, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology).
As a person, you are a team player and can distil complex issues and clearly articulate solutions together with being able to collaborate, lead, influence and motivate others. You can demonstrate effectiveness and growth in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You have outstanding presentation and communication skills. You are highly analytical, comfortable with numbers, and can act independently. You have a highly developed ability to cooperate with multiple stakeholders in an international company, both internally and externally. Finally, you deliver on your promises, and you are able of keeping an eye on the details while understanding and working within a larger framework.

Travelling: The candidate must have the ability to fly to various meetings, conferences or sites including overnight trips and be able to spend longer periods of time at the Y-mAbs R&D site in New Jersey US (weeks).

The Global Medical Director Translational Medicine will serve as a key leader within Oncology Translational Sciences, contributing to the overall translational assets’ strategies across multiple oncology approaches and you will report to SVP, CSO, Global Head Translational Medicine.
Your main tasks are:
- Work with Translational Medicinal team to develop the overall approach for developing and implementing Translational Medicine plans for Oncology programs
- Embed in Oncology R&D project teams and provide medical expertise to the team’s translational strategy through preclinical development to FIH trials and efficacy proof-of-concept (ePOC)
- As a Development Translational Physician, support the path into clinical development and the strategy for reverse translation
- Work in a matrixed, cross-functional environment with key member functions of Scientific and Development teams during preclinical and early clinical development and contribute to the implementation of translational strategy for the project
- Responsible for the build and development of a translational blueprint (relevance in disease area, competitive differentiation, indication selection, patient stratification, combination strategy)
- Develop a reverse-translation plan to enable seamless flow of knowledge from the clinic back to the project team as well as other projects within the oncology pipeline
- Partner with the project team in the selection and engagement of external collaborators/KOLs to guide the translational strategy across the discovery-development continuum
- Integrate knowledge from diverse sources to inform translational hypothesis generation, identify models suitable for testing hypotheses, contribute to the design of experiments, and coordinate execution and data analysis
- Serve as a critical knowledge base for project teams on the standard of care and the clinical landscape in disease areas of relevance, and the competitive landscape in mechanisms of relevance. Contribute to drafting and developing strategic approach to clinical strategy across platforms and pathways of interest
- Contribute to key documentation and presentations for projects moving through internal review and regulatory submissions
