Maersk is going through times of unprecedented change. From the farm to your refrigerator, the factory to your wardrobe, we are developing solutions that meet customer needs throughout the supply chain, with our vision to become global integrator of container logistics. Digitisation is taking centre stage in enabling our customers to trade globally and in how tax authorities interact with us. Join us as we transform how we manage tax at the heart of our business activities.
As part of the Maersk Tax Infrastructure & Global Process Owner team, you will have a key role in a truly exciting and dynamic time. You’ll be responsible for tax technology, data, process and control projects in our business transformation programme, helping turn our tax vision into reality. You will partner with Finance, Technology, other internal stakeholders and external advisors to identify and implement the best suited technical platforms, fit for purpose processes and controls to deliver the high quality, “tax ready” data to meet our business needs.
Maersk operates in more than 130 countries across the world and with rapidly and constantly changing global tax and regulatory changes, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the vision and implement holistic tax solutions for the Maersk group.
The role is project focused and “hands on”, giving you real responsibility and opportunity to “own” outcomes from inception to go live, seeing the value realised.
You will be exposed to a wide and challenging range of business issues, working with cross functional teams from Finance, Technology, Commercial and Operations and across our business segments, including Ocean, Logistics & Services and Terminals.
Being a part of Maersk will offer you the opportunity for career development in a global organization.
Maersk is a highly international and inspiring environment with an attractive value proposition for its employees.
As part of ensuring a successful work-life balance we promote flexible work-hours and offer attractive parental leave and other benefits.
As a performance-oriented company, we strive to always recruit the best person for the job - regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high performing teams.
• Lead the Tax aspect of end to end technology deliveries on workstreams in our transformation programmes, leveraging ERP, digital technologies and specialist tax tools, to ensure delivery is in accordance with the Tax vision and objectives and supports the realization of business value and goals.
• Support the Heads of Tax Transformation and Tax Global Process Ownership to translate Tax vision into a roadmap, working with Finance Transformation teams, Technology and other business stakeholders to execute the product delivery strategy for tax.
• Create and implement solutions for essential interim fixes and improvements, particularly for tax operational delivery, working with IT and/or external advisors as required.
• Lead the design of tax-relevant processes and controls, including those embedded in upstream business processes to improve data quality, automation, efficiency and resilience for tax business outcomes.
• Contribute to the development of the tax data model and data governance.
• Work with other Tax colleagues to ensure that business needs, risks and opportunities across tax types are identified and understood, providing effective interpretation between business and tax technical requirements and technology solutioning.
• Co-lead the Tax Product delivery team, taking responsibility for the tax side of delivery on specific projects within the portfolio supporting delivery of tax vision & objectives, maximizing value and minimizing future cost of change / total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Product delivery teams in other areas of Finance, Commercial and Operations to provide tax input and optimize end to end impacts on data quality.
You are likely to be a manager in the tax management consultancy team in a global accounting firm or similar in a niche consulting or tax solutions provider group. Alternatively, you may be in-house in a large multinational in a tax technology, operations or risk & governance role. We are interested in hearing from applicants with both controls, process and data experience as well as those with technology expertise.
You have:
• 5+ years’ experience* in delivering holistic solutions to tax needs end to end across the business lifecycle: from understanding business needs, requirements gathering, process, control & solution design and build through to implementation and value realisation.
