As Network and Market Manager on our West Coast Latin America Team you will join our North South Network & Market team which is a key part of our Ocean organization.
You will be responsible for the West Coast Latin America to Asia market and will be given the opportunity to stretch your capabilities and toolbox by analyzing markets, designing and implementing networks and developing the commercial strategy.
You will work and build relationships with colleagues around the world and across functionshave a tangible impact on our business.
The West Coast Latin America Team is one of nine Network & Market teams in the Ocean Products organization of Maersk. We play a key role in cementing our position as the global market leader in the liner shipping industry.
Network and Market is responsible for the strategic direction of the individual markets, the network design and the market P&L result.
You will be based in Copenhagen and some travel should be expected.

Through analyses and applying market intelligence you will be involved in developing our network, aligning product targets and setting commercial direction with the goal of securing the most profitable cargo on the ships.
You will oversee the daily business performance in the market in close partnership our colleagues in Panama as well as Copenhagen. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• In-depth analysis and performance management to drive Ocean P&L and strategy of the markets
• Monitoring of market trends and ad hoc data gathering and market analysis to support strategic planning
• Ensure close alignment with Regional Ocean Management and Liner Operations Teams on short-term and long-term trade offs
• Develop the most optimal Ocean network ensuring that Maersk delivers the best customer experience at lowest cost base
• Scenario planning to ensure we have backup plans ready for various changes in market or operational conditions.
• Competitor analysis and forecasting of competitive market landscape including Maersk positioning and suggestions for improvement
• Drive weekly performance ensuring we meet our utilization and schedule reliability targets
• Provide input to Products team on requirements for West Coast Latin America markets
• Freight list (budget) management • Fill in for Senior Network and Market Manager in their absence
There are several entries into this challenging job and both educational and relevant working experience will be taken into consideration.
We would expect minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Commercial or Operations position, with strong business acumen and customer focus.

• Exceptional analytical capabilities and structure, able to define issues and solutions from large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data.

• Strong stakeholder management, conflict resolution.
• Collaboration and teamwork across hierarchies and functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
