As our new Industrial Wireless & Network Test Engineer/Manager you will work in a diverse team with members from multiple time zones consisting of Integrators, Network Engineers, Solution Architects and project managers to deliver highly technical Wireless & Network environments that range from smaller standalone deliveries to full industrial end-to-end networks.
These environments are business critical as they are used to support our day-to-day operations. As such you must have previous hands on experience with complex industrial environments such as shipping terminals, container depots, distribution centres and/or complex manufacturing environments.
Typically, this position will be responsible for developing and leading test activities, both Strategically and Technically. Owning and defining overall Test Framework (including Test Automation), setting guidelines for test efforts and establishing standardized test processes based on industry accepted best practices for verification and validation of Industrial Wireless & Network Infrastructure.
Once a project is initiated, you will, together with a team of project resources, be responsible for site surveys, technical evaluation of vendor proposals as well as testing and validating the chosen wireless and network infrastructure, to ensure these meet the defined requirements.

•Technical Contribution:
•Discussions with suppliers to understand and deep dive into the solution to assess and identify any gaps, which could be potential for issues during delivery.
•Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering team in providing input towards a standardized strategy for wireless and networks and jointly drive the continued development of Industrial wireless and network solutions to meet new business requirements.
•Monitor market trends that might benefit business process, including also potential new vendors with more cost-effective Wireless and network solutions or business relevant innovations that might benefit the company
•Test Strategy and Test Metrics:
•Own and lead overall test activities for Wireless and Network projects
•Understand requirements, define test scope and artefacts required for projects.
•Define and develop wireless and network test strategy, test procedure definitions, test execution and troubleshooting guidelines (including test environment setup, test equipment management and maintenance).
•Develop technical guidance on types of testing under broad category of Functional and Non-Functional, which is to be covered during Test design and execution
•Defines automation approach for testing.
•Work hands-on in Test Automation and Scripting, using Python, Perl and/or Unix Shell
•Test Planning & Execution
•Create Test Plan with relevant scope of test items, test cases, estimated efforts, execution plan, tools to be used etc…
•Conduct performance validation by building workload model, based on terminal size and client concurrency, using standard load/performance tools or as needed develop one for the test.
•Conduct survey’s or Drive Test’s using Ekahau, TEMS or other relevant tools.
•Analyze using packet sniffing tools like Tcpdump and Wireshark
Core Competences:
•Excellent knowledge and experience of end-to-end test processes and methodologies.
•Experience with defining test strategy and executing test activities.
•Proven ability to diagnose and localize technical problems using logical analysis techniques.
•Experience in agile test and defect management tool, like Azure DevOps.
•Identify KPIs, which will impact performance and define test methods which can uncover potential issues.

•Good technical knowledge of LTE technology, including experience implementing LTE networks for a vendor or an operator along with experience with Wi-Fi networks.
•Experience and Knowledge of different wireless protocols like, 802.11, Physical Layer (OFDM and SC-OFDM), MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP and NAS. Additional knowledge of other protocols like TCP/IP, SIP and RTP.
•In-depth knowledge and experience of packet sniffing and analysis using Tcpdump and Wireshark
•Debug latency issues in various layers of application/infrastructure stacks that impacts the performance.
