• ESG is one of the strategic enablers for Maersk Procurement, and you will be joining a group of passionate people within Sustainable Procurement (SP) team which impacts thousands of suppliers globally to drive sustainability outcomes.
Key responsibilities
• Strategically integrate and drive the Safety, Security, Ecosystems & Business Resilience (BR) agenda within Procurement framework to minimise safety & business continuity impact in our global supply chain. Working in close collaboration with Safety, Security, Ecosystem & BR Leadership Team
• Be the subject matter focal point within Procurement for Safety, Security & BR topics, catering to global Procurement categories. Work with global stakeholders to mobilize technical support to enhance the safety & BR sustainability of operations, adding value to operations, including through external expertise where deemed necessary
• Develop and drive Procurement-centric Safety, Security & BR roadmap to deliver on overall Maersk’s ESG ambitions, in collaboration with internal global stakeholders across Safety & BR, HSSE and other relevant functions
• Provide strategic and tangible insights & plan for Procurement Category Managers to integrate Safety, Security & BR topics into Category ESG strategy/plans
• Support Category Managers / Sourcing Managers on key supplier engagement and development dialogues on Safety, Security & BR, including evaluating Safety & Security standards, legislation and relevant laws for various products and services that are procured
• Support in developing category/supplier level metrics and targets on Safety, Security & BR and enable internal and external reporting on such metrics/targets as relevant
• Enhance Procurement organisation’s awareness and knowledge on Safety, Security & BR topics. Drive sessions/workshops to provide topic clarity to the stakeholders/cross-functional teams. Develop FAQ / SOP for respective category and guide the categories for the Safety, Security & BR Agenda enablement
• Establishing and driving the key programming and impactful strategic partnerships required to deliver Maersk’s Safety impact and sustainability strategy. This might include leading an in-depth planning session and drafting reports and other materials that summarize initiative strategic plans.
• Bring in relevant insights and external inspiration within Safety, Security & BR impact and partnership agenda to help shape our strategic questions, choices, programs and activities
• Translate the organisation Safety, Security & BR targets to SMART Procurement Metrics to ensure supplier compliance.
• Leverage Maersk initiatives, tools and partners to strengthen scale and impact of Maersk’s sustainability agenda
• Drive process to select, set up and lead selective shared global partnerships of the group including any campaign, program or product collaborations.
We are looking for
The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of applicable work experience, ideally in an international environment, as a sustainability professional with experience in Safety and Security standards and legislation, knowledge of relevant laws, Business Resilience & Continuity and global best practices
Other key skills:
• Solid understanding of Safety, Security & BR concepts and frameworks
• Experience in renewable energy space and/or logistics and supply chain industry is preferable
• Experience in Project Management skills
• Ability to own and drive initiatives independently with attention to detail and be result oriented
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscape and influence key stakeholders at multiple levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to translate strategic insights into tangible and actionable plans
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and written and oral proficiency in English. Additional languages are a plus
• Understanding of Procurement and Sourcing Concepts is highly preferred
• Experience with implementing internationally recognised Principles for Safety, Security & Business Resilience, and experience in driving execution through comprehensive safety audits, ensuring compliance, CAPA in a logistic business setting will be considered an advantage.
