The Strategy & Commercial Management department within Global Development is responsible for the profitable management and growth of this rapidly growing strategic business area and fulfil a number of functions:

• Deal flow: supporting the frontline Deal Originators with maturing of investment proposals for approvals by the investment committee and subsequent execution of deals
• Strategic direction and budgeting: setting targets and budgets for Global Development activities based on strategic direction and frontline inputs and aspirations
• Portfolio management and reporting: staying on top of general pipeline and portfolio developments, investments, proceeds, profitability and overall P/L of the function
• Knowledge: designing and adapting systems for managing our rapidly increasing pipeline including mandates, decisions, obligations etc.

As such, the Strategy & Commercial Management department contributes to the achievement of the Global Development Business Unit in an entrepreneurial environment working closely together with various global functions as well as the regional development teams, responsible for originating and developing new wind power projects across the globe.

Responsibilities
As Global Development Investment Strategy Specialist you will join a small, innovative, analytical team with global reach and broad scope reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Management. The ideal candidate is a motivated, extroverted all-rounder with great analytical and communication abilities. A high degree of professionalism and autonomy in handling senior internal and external stakeholders is expected.

Your tasks will typically include:

  • Gather, analyse and summarise intel for Global Development investment strategy
  • Stay abreast of developments in the project development industry
  • In close collaboration with our frontline, draft investment strategy with identification of key markets, secondary markets, and opportunistic markets
  • Develop and maintain Medium-Term Forecasting tool
  • Analyse current portfolio vis-à-vis strategy and assess and quantify risk exposures
  • Identify gaps and liaise with frontline on strategy, resource and staffing gaps
  • Follow developments/trends in electricity and energy markets to inform strategy formulation
  • Stay abreast of new technologies in terms of opportunities for hybrids, Power-to-X, 24/7 supply etc.
  • Based on portfolio and market development, maintain benchmarks of competitive projects and translate these into investment criteria/market specific hurdle rates
  • Translate strategy into annual budgets and KPIs

Qualifications
On a professional level, we expect you to have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant Master's degree with focus on quantitative analysis (e.g. Finance, Economics, Engineering)
  • A minimum of five years' experience working with strategic market analysis in a global company
  • Ability to transform complex (financial) analyses into clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Quick learner who can adapt to a complex and dynamic business model
  • Experienced working with quantitative analysis and good Excel skills
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing

Additional information
Your primary work location will at our office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Some travel activity is to be expected.
