We are looking for a new Head of Section for COWI in Group IT, to support the ambitions of delivering value to customers, partners and colleagues all over COWI.

Group IT are supporting COWI’s 5 lines of business – Denmark, Sweden, Norway, COWI International and Arkitema Architects.

COWI operates around the globe, creating new and effective connections across regions, countries and continents. We are app. 7,300 people around the globe, of which approximately 125 are employed within Group IT.

YOUR ROLE AS Head of Section

Reporting to Vice President for Business Relations & Engineering Applications, you will hold an exciting and challenging position with a clear opportunity to make a difference and support the on-going development of COWI business and Group IT globally. You will be working with engaged and competent colleagues covering the full scope of IT disciplines.

Based in COWI's headquarter in Lyngby, you will be accountable for leading our services and efforts on COWI Group level with focus on Engineering Software. Your efforts will be supported by an experienced team of COWI IT professionals based both in Scandinavia and Lithuania to ensure that we meet our strategic ambitions.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Managing an extensive portfolio of global services based on Engineering Applications and cloud services from e.g. large vendors like Autodesk, Bentley, Trimble, ESRI. Adobe etc.
  • Leading (Line Management) a team of 8 IT Professionals across DK, NO and LT with plans of expansion.
  • Overall budget responsibility and financial follow-up
  • Vendor Management: Building good and sound vendor relations and ensure deliverables
  • Contract Management: Managing all contracts as well as driving negotiation of renewals as well as new contracts in collaboration with internal Procurement department
  • Establishment and fulfilment of Service Level Agreement with Line of Business including usage-based cost allocation management
  • Management of a broad stakeholder base both within Group IT and in the Line of Business
  • Ensuring good and sound second and third level support and operation adhering to overall KPI's as well as continuously improvement and development of our services
  • Continuously taking over more software from the business and bringing it into globally managed services
  • Impact and participate in new innovative development initiatives both supporting business demands and driving qualitative changes towards the business

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE: LEADERSHIP, INTERNATIONAL MINDSET AND BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Leadership experience with people management – preferable in a multicultural context
  • Significant Engineering Software experience, ideally within a professional or technical industry
  • Ability to set direction, inspire and motivate a diverse international team
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, successfully navigate ambiguity and ability to work with a variety of personalities both locally and remotely
  • A clear business understanding and a commercial mind-set with good negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage many and diverse stakeholder relations – both in business and Business Support
  • Experience in Vendor and Contract Management
  • An outgoing and action-oriented style with a strong analytical sense
  • Focus on delivering value and concrete results within your area of expertise
  • Superb English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
