About the department

We are an international team of diverse and passionate project managers who are responsible for diabetes injectable GLP-1s including LoE preparation. We monitor and analyze the competitive situation to be at the forefront of competitive developments. We craft global brand strategies and innovative tactics that are implemented across the globe and we work closely together with regions, affiliates and cross-functional stakeholders. About the products and market: Novo Nordisk continues to be the global market leader in the GLP-1 segment with a 47.5% value market share. Meanwhile, the diabetes injectable GLP-1s (Ozempic and Victoza) accounted for more than a quarter of NovoNordisk business in 2019 with 33Bn DKK sales.

The position

Driving Loss of Exclusivity (LoE) Excellence for Injectable GLP-1's'.

The role as LoE Associate Global Project Director will provide the right candidate with the responsibility to assess LoE opportunities, provide recommendations and drive LoE execution through a matrix team organisation and across the regions. Within this arena there are three main accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of a robust Victoza® LoE strategy and drive implementation through collaboration with regions and affiliates.
  • Programme management of the GEAR-UP agenda. GEAR-UP is the LoE toolbox for brands such as Saxenda®, NovoMix® and Victoza® that are in the tactical to operational LoE time horizon. It is a cross functional team including project managers from Insulins and Obesity streams as well as regulatory, patents, legal, commercial, market access etc.
  • Lead injectable semaglutide LoE, including identification and evaluation of opportunities and development of high-quality business case(s) considering product portfolio and market archetype view. Define roll-out/implementation approach and plan dependent on different future scenarios.

Finally, this role is also accountable for driving the Novo Nordisk cross-functional and cross-brand LoE strategy framework. The core deliverable is to identify and embed the key capabilities and organisational changes required to ensure world leading LoE management is the ‘way of doing business’ in Novo Nordisk.

Qualification

You hold a Master’s degree within business, economics, natural sciences or similar. You have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience working with marketing and/or commercial strategy development at both a global, local or affiliate level within the pharmaceutical industry. Broad business understanding across the value chain makes you an idea candidate for this post, whilst external experience with LoE management and generics/biosimilars is a distinct advantage.

As a person, you have strong interpersonal skills, and you succeed in engaging with and influencing stakeholders at all levels. You bring a good attitude to work even when pressure is on, and you can manage multiple work streams in parallel. You enjoy working independently and can combine your strong commercial and strategic mindset with your outstanding stakeholder management skills to drive delivery. Your communication skills in both oral and written English are strong.
