LEAD STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

(Director Level)

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Strong entrepreneur with ”start-up” mentality and deep knowledge and network in the digital & AI health ecosystem in the Nordics
  • Build strategic partnerships in e-health, AI health and diagnostic innovation that differentiate Takeda as a leading patient centric company that provides innovative solutions beyond medicine, that contribute to sustainable value-based healthcare

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build strategic partnerships in e-health, AI in healthcare and diagnostic innovation that differentiate Takeda as a leading patient centric company that provides innovative solutions beyond medicine that contribute to sustainable value-based healthcare

  • Based on a deep understanding of e-health, AI in healthcare and diagnostic innovation in the Nordics, research and analyze the market to identify emerging partnership opportunities to accelerate e-health and innovation beyond medicine.
  • Establish an understanding of the objectives of potential partners and match these with the priorities of Takeda to create and maximize innovation beyond medicine opportunities
  • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management
  • Identify, source and set up high performing and innovative partnerships with meaningful impact in digital health to support transformational innovation beyond medicine by combining scalability with customization
  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements in accordance with company’s contract guidelines and policies
  • Deliver a great experience to our strategic partners when working with Takeda representing our values

  • Identify top strategic opportunities to partner in high-profile events, conferences and thought leadership to amplify Takeda´s mission for innovation beyond medicine. Develop strategic partnership platforms, content and communications materials. Represent Takeda at e-health and innovation conferences and platforms.

  • Stay informed of e-health news, innovation, trends and best practices and increase the understanding and capabilities in the rest of the organization within this field

  • Highly independent and collaborative key role that builds strategic partnerships and utilizes broad understanding of e-health trends, solutions and networks across sectors to innovate solutions beyond medicine in therapeutic areas in focus

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Ability to actively and quickly gain insights and understanding of emerging trends in e-health and AI and innovation environment at large
  • Ability to provide opinions on key opportunities for innovations beyond medicine based on horizon scanning and competitive intelligence as well as deep understanding of e-health ecosystem in the Nordics
  • Ability to communicate and present innovation beyond medicine solutions to all internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness, capabilities and Takeda´s footprint in innovative and sustainable value-based healthcare

Leadership

  • Support and take active role in the development and implementation of the Innovation Beyond Medicines strategy in line with Takeda´s ambition to transform healthcare
  • Demonstrate strategic enterprise thinking and use broad understanding of social and digital trends, the healthcare ecosystem, and the pharma business to develop strategic partnerships for innovation beyond medicine programs that significantly impact patients and customers
  • Lead successful set-up, implementation and achievement of Takeda´s innovation beyond medicine strategy, tactical objectives and milestones
  • Strong understanding of local e-health environments and patient and customer needs and closely monitor environmental changes and activities with ability to translate these into successful testbeds for innovation beyond medicine partnerships
  • Anticipate and capitalize on e-health, AI in healthcare or innovation trends and identifies actions to strengthen Takeda´s position as a leader in patient centric, sustainable and value-based healthcare
  • Develop strategic partnerships and enhance co-creation mindset to build innovations beyond medicine together with our stakeholders.
  • Achieve the above through effective liaising, networking and working relationships with broad range of experts and partners inside and outside the organization
  • Create the environment that inspires and enables people to collaborate, elevate their capabilities and move the organization forward as a leader in innovations beyond medicine

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • High autonomy and responsibility for establishing impactful collaborations with multiple partners with different level of expertise and way of working in a new and emerging sector requiring a high level of problem solving ability.
  • Works under general direction, but will need to take independent decisions related to strategic direction and development of multi-beneficial partnerships.

Interaction

  • Report to Head of CoE Innovation Beyond Medicine
  • Develop multi-beneficial partnerships across industries, sectors and geographic within all therapeutic areas in focus
  • Effectively work together with internal stakeholders across all functions and all 4 Nordic countries as well as with R&D and regional and global counterparts

Innovation

  • High level of innovative skills to activate strategic partnerships for innovation beyond medicine utilizing technologies and networks in collaborations that are new to the company.
  • Ability to take healthy risks while ensuring compliance with legal and Compliance framework
  • Proactively use and continuously advance broad understanding of social and digital trends, the healthcare ecosystem, and the pharma business to drive innovation beyond medicine programs that significantly impact patients and customers

Complexity

  • High level of complexity establishing mutually beneficial strategic partnerships in a for the company new field across therapeutic areas and geographic in close collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders and partners with different maturity and ways of working

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial bent and with the resilience, grit and closing skills, who is willing to take ownership and to see opportunities through from pitch to completion
  • Energetic, highly motivated, can-do attitude individual who enjoys networking and establishing relationships across the e-health and innovation network within the Nordics and beyond
  • A passion for emerging partnership development in the e-health, AI in healthcare or health innovation space
  • Patient-centric mindset
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual rigor applied to decision making, and the ability to think strategically about complex issues, and to unlock the opportunities of strategic partnerships
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable navigating a complex role, who can create deep mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with cross-functional, project management and demonstrated ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in a partnerships management or strategy role in consulting, or at a relevant company or institution dealing with e-health or innovation beyond medicine
  • Demonstrated experience developing e-health or partner programs
  • Ability to negotiate deal terms in the spirit of addressing mutually beneficial goals
