Head of ESG – Reconor Denmark

About the role


The Head of ESG Denmark, is a senior position responsible for developing and implementing sustainability strategies while considering the environmental, social, and governance impacts of the company’s operations.

The role collaborates with cross-functional colleagues and teams such as M&A and strategy & Transformation, engage stakeholders, manage risks, drive initiatives. The role tracks and reports ESG initiatives internally and externally.

The Head of ESG plays a vital role in driving positive change, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating long-term value for the company.

Responsibilities


  • Drive the ESG strategy implementation and ensure ESG initiatives are implemented, and targets are met.
  • Set up an ESG network across the company to drive ESG initiatives.
  • Ensure organizational commitment to the ESG agenda.
  • Engage and partner with customers to innovate for sustainability.
  • In close collaboration with Communications ensure communication of ESG strategy to people, customers and stakeholders.
  • Liase with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project Management
  • Support Management on M&As on ESG
  • Raise awareness and provide education on ESG principles, their significance at the company, and ways colleagues can actively contribute to the strategy
  • Position the ESG themes as a catalyst for continuous business development.
  • Continuously monitor customers, competitors and international legislation to ensure that the company is an ESG leading company in the industry.
  • ESG KPI tracking and reporting
  • Ensure that the company is compliant with CSRD regulations and EU legislation.
  • Support Finance and Communications in delivering the yearly ESG report (in 2025 CSRD Compliant).

Your other skills include:


  • International or Nordic experience, with a multi-cultural awareness
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications
  • Analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate concepts into actions
  • Fluent in English and Danish in writing and speaking.
  • B.Sc. (HD) or M.Sc.

Reconor Group, including Norrecco and City Container, has a turnover of approx. DKK 1.2 billion and has more than 600 employees. In total, Norrecco handles approx. 2 million tons of soil and approx. 0.8 million tonnes of waste, and the operation of City Container includes approx. 200 trucks and approx. 31,000 containers.
