The Center has a national responsibility to develop state of the art infrastructure to enable analysis on big biomedical heterogenous data.
One of the Danish National Genome Center’s main goals is to be at the forefront of new big data solutions in the healthcare domain. The Danish National Genome Center is working with HPC, cloud, network, servers, storage, applications, users, and cross-cutting processes in a Linux software environment.
About the position as WGS data expert
To advance the use of Precision Medicine, using WGS it is essential to accurately and timely capture all information from such experiments which may influence how the generated data is interpreted and used in downstream analysis. Thus, it is important for the future users of the Danish National Genome Center platform that this information is available.
Your primary tasks will be to work with the bioinformatics database team, and the sequencing teams to ensure that all relevant information from the sequencing is captured and stored in an appropriate format in the NGC databases. Sequencing is a rapidly evolving technology and the data that needs to be captured, and how it shall be interpreted will evolve as well. The WGS data expert has the responsibility to follow this development closely and make sure the appropriate changes are made to the database systems. You will be part of a team of experts in the Precision Medicine field, including both health experts and IT experts that can help you with the databases, and you will also have access to most leading experts of the field.
