You will join our Major Bridges department
As our new colleague, you will be part of an international department and explore the exciting processes in major infrastructure projects across all stages from planning through to construction. Ramboll has more than 50 years’ experience bringing major crossings to life on projects such as the Great Belt Bridge connecting Denmark and the Queensferry Crossing, the world’s longest three-tower cable-stayed bridge. Our bridge team works on all types of bridges and has a reputation for innovation based on projects such as Gateshead Millennium Bridge - the first tilting bridge in the world. Our engineers work alongside colleagues from other departments both nationally and internationally to cover all the necessary services to deliver these projects.
You will become a key member and technical lead within a project team for new major bridges. Our project pipeline is constantly developing, and your contribution will be essential to further strengthen our portfolio and customer relations. You will be expected to take an active role in the development of the department, as well as the international growth of the department.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Your workplace will be Ramboll Head Office in Copenhagen but due to the international nature of our business, travelling activities are to be expected. Our colleagues are located on different geographical locations.

On a more personal level you are process oriented and able to focus on the customer, which typically is the contractor on these major infrastructure projects. You will be an important player in sales activities and tender projects. Creativity and an adaptive mindset is essential.
Furthermore, you have strong communication skills, experience in leading design teams, inspiring others and making sure your team works as a functioning unit and experience in mentoring junior team members. But foremost you are a highly skilled bridge design engineer with a broad knowledge within bridge technology.
Finally, you are willing to take initiative to develop our business in terms of improving internal processes, tools and delivery model as well as participating in sales activities and extending our customer base.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Taking on the technical lead on our projects. Multidisciplinary by nature, you will have the opportunity to exercise and develop many engineering skills. Your work will also include coordination with disciplines outside of our department, such as geo structure designers, road designers, MEP designers, etc.
- Working in all phases of the project life cycle, from the early stages of feasibility studies to detailed design projects for contractors. Depending on your experience and skills, you can influence your further development to a large extent, and you will be offered a broad selection of internal training programs
- The responsibility for the team’s project delivery being compliant, timely and correct. This is essential for all our projects. We work in a true collaborative environment, where team work and knowledge sharing are an integral part of our success

- You are a structural engineer with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in various phases of major bridge projects with at least 5 years’ experience in the design of bridges to Eurocode.
- Extensive experience in the design and construction of major long span cable supported bridges is a requirement.
- Experience in various phases of major bridge projects
- Fluency in both spoken and written English as you will be part of a multinational team working on international projects
