About the department

Real World Data (RWD) & Science is characterised by a high level of innovation and entrepreneurship driven by fast development in the field of real-world evidence and the organization’s priority of this area. Our department is responsible for providing evidence and insights to all phases of development projects and launched products based on real-world data as well as existing clinical trial data. The department is expected to have a significant strategic and cross-organizational impact on the business. In addition to our internal activities we work with external experts on exploring new methodologies and ways of leveraging real world data. The department consists of around 30 highly skilled, professional and engaged people with backgrounds within epidemiology, biostatistics and data science.

RWD and Science is a part of Global Development where we drive all clinical development of products based on proteins and peptides from early development phases to product introduction and life cycle management. We are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide, securing that the process lives up to global standards, regulations and business ethics. We work in global project teams with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society.

The position

As a Project Director in RWD & Science you will apply your solid knowledge of data generation and project management skills to ensure optimal use of available data and integrate RWE into our development programs.

Your tasks and responsibilities will be varied and diverse focusing on utilizing Real World Data and technology within Global Development. Among other things you will drive the development of integrated data generation plans across all portfolio areas with an ambitious business value proposition.

You will facilitate productive collaboration between teams and colleagues from different skill areas as well as external experts to ensure we leverage and get optimal value of our data, external as well as internal data. It is therefore expected that you are great at stakeholder engagement and building global collaboration.

In addition to planning and execution of integrated data generation plans and support of external research collaborations you will support RWD & Science Management in development and execution of departmental strategic and operational plans and processes to support the current and future scientific and commercial objectives of the company.

In this role you will be interacting with many stakeholders globally. Communication will be highly complex as it must address stakeholders at several organisational levels in different parts of the organisation with a wide span of competencies.

Qualifications

You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in a field of relevance (eg. Natural sciences, health economics or similar) and have experience working in the pharmaceutical industry. You have wide knowledge of drug development and life cycle management processes, data generation and data analysis including tools for visualisations and an understanding of data infrastructure.

You have cross-functional or informal management experience, such as project lead experience, team leader experience teams and extensive experience with collaboration across professional and international borders.

You have demonstrated strong business understanding and have the capability to turn data into insights and provide recommended actions based on a solid knowledge of the business.

We emphasise accountability and reaching goals through a collaborative effort, so it is essential that you have excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, combined with an ability to make decisions and set direction. You have strong communication and presentation skills and you have a team-oriented personality with a high degree of cross-cultural awareness.
