You will be part of the Plant & Hybrid Solutions organisation where we are responsible for developing Vestas Hybrid Power Plant Controller enabling grid-code compliance for all Vestas Power Plants connected in power systems worldwide.
As our new Senior Specialist in the Grid Modelling & Analysis department you will be responsible for technology and product design of electrical simulation models, covering all wind turbines and power plant controllers. You will also be responsible for power plant models and design guiding grid studies.
Ensuring power plant compliance with connection codes globally will also be an important factor of your work. You can look forward to a diverse role spanning from technology scouting, intellectual property rights, guidelines and processes for best practice design and quality assurance, to development of core competences and active participation in working groups across the organisation.
Responsibilities
You will be accountable for the modelling and grid studies of Vestas renewable power plants. Hence the main enablers for Vestas customers to obtain business critical grid compliance worldwide. All of this is developed according to technology and product roadmaps aligned with the business strategy, defined and procured by you with and through your team of technical leaders. More specifically you will:
- Define and drive technology- and product roadmaps aligned with the business strategy
- Act as technical head within modelling and grid studies particularly in the scoping phase of complex and cross functional projects, including making business cases and project scoping
- Ensure quality through design reviews
- Represent Vestas in relevant working groups and committees
- Interface to academia and partnership projects
- Understand and translate customer needs in terms of compliance and usability of our electrical simulation models, and build strong relationships with core stakeholders
Qualifications
- M.Sc. and probably a PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in an international setting
- Extensive experience with industrial product design, technology development, business model development
- Working knowledge of power plant connection codes and technical requirements for connection agreements
- Detailed knowledge of transmission system analysis and power system stability phenomenon's.
- Track record of identifying and delivering new technology into products or installations
- Hands-on experience with modelling and simulation of power electronic and control equipment in power systems
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English
