This is an exciting time for Novo Nordisk, as we are strengthening and expanding our HR Business Partnering global community - a community focused on enabling the Line of Business in executing their business strategies. A community on a journey being proactive strategic partners in a changing environment.

The position

As one of our two new HR Business Partners you will become part of a large, inspirational, international community, driving the people and organizational development dialogue within one of two technology and data driven key business areas: Global Drug Discovery (GDD) and Global Research and Technology (GRT) – both Senior Vice President (SVP) areas within Novo Nordisk Research and Development.

You will be driving the People & Organization agenda and translate strategy into relevant and impactful HR actions. This includes driving:

  • organisational development and effectiveness
  • culture and engagement
  • change management
  • talent management & development
  • strategic workforce management.

Together with the HR Business Partners in the team you are heading, you will be responsible for continuously reviewing, assessing and evolving the business to drive organisational efficiency and agility.

Furthermore, you will be shaping and fostering an engaging, diverse and inclusive employee environment, rooted in the Novo Nordisk Way, mitigating the challenges which industrial and technology-oriented structures pose.

As a trusted partner, you build solid relationships with the business, and you have the ability to identify challenges and play an advisory role in addressing them.

Moreover, the more senior of the two new HR Business partners will, along with own area of responsibility, be part of the HR Business Partnering management team and have informal management responsibilities over four other SVP HR Business Partner colleagues.

In this position, your role will be to guide and support the team members – as each of them work independently in their respective areas - while maintaining strategic communication flows, alignment and consistency of People &Organization policies across the areas, as well as following the progress of strategy development and implementation.

Qualifications

You have strong knowledge within change management and organisational development, preferably from a research & development environment or IT.

Your ability to think strategically enables you to translate business into HR activities, based on a thorough understanding of the challenges and future outlook, across multi-centre and geographically diverse units. You are able to remove people and organization related roadblocks ensuring strong support to strategy implementation.

You are characterised by being:

  • a strong and pragmatic executor
  • a person people want to work with because you drive things forward
  • a person with high personal integrity, which allows you to offer your perspective respectfully
  • an experienced process facilitator

It is natural for you to bridge opinions, among other things, by demonstrating good cultural understanding and stakeholder management at all organizational levels. And you find solutions and get people to follow along, focusing on what matters the most for the end-user.

You hold a relevant academic degree, and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

About the departments

You will become part of the P&O Business Partnering unit and refer to the Senior Vice President for P&O Business Partnering, within a structure which encompasses P&O Business Partnering, Environmental, Health and Safety, People Relations and specific training and capabilities close to LoB.

There are more than 800 employees in Global Drug Discovery (GDD) who work on exploring scientific ideas, testing novel concepts and running fully-fledged research projects, which could develop into novel medicines for people with diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), rare blood disorders, rare endocrine disorders, chronic kidney and cardiovascular diseases.

In Global Research and Technology (GRT) there are approx. 560 employees who drive drug innovation across all therapy areas in Novo Nordisk.

GDD and GRT employees work on research sites in Denmark (Måløv), United Kingdom (Oxford), United States (Seattle and Boston) and China (Bejing).

You will be a member of the executive management team for the business area.
