The position You will join a growing area preparing for taking in more exciting development projects and new production facilities to raise the capacity for the supply of our portfolio. You will primary be responsible for purifying active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for phase 1 and 2 studies. Your team consists of 15 employees (scientists and technicians) who are preparing, conducting, and reporting API production campaigns in close collaboration with the development and production areas of Novo Nordisk. As Associate Manager you will work onsite Bagsværd for our purification team in building 1R. Your primary responsibility is to be visible, easy to approach and set a clear direction for your team as well as:
  • Keep yourself updated with the team’s tasks and projects, know when to get involved, and take action when needed.

  • Empower, motivate, and develop your team as well as help them balance priorities and deadlines.

  • In this job, you will have opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing your leadership competencies and being part of establishing new facilities while keeping the current production running. Furthermore, you can look forward to exciting digitalization projects as well as being involved in various investment initiatives and projects. You will be a part of the leadership team in Purification Pilot Plants (PPP), consisting of five team leaders, one coordinator and a director that meets frequently, support each other, and routinely use each other as sparring partners. Qualifications We are looking for an ambitious, robust, and performance-oriented leader, that finds simple solutions to complex challenges. To succeed in this position, you have:
  • A master’s degree or PhD in science/technology, biochemical/chemical engineering, pharmacy, or other relevant fields.
  • Several years of experience in people management, ideally within a development or production environment.
  • The ability to challenge the status quo and see cLEAN as a natural part of your daily work
  • Strong communication skills in Danish and English, both written and spoken
  • On a personal level, you possess strong interpersonal skills, which enables you to build trust within your team. As a confident and self-driven leader, you take responsibility for developing others and you motivate your employees by being inspiring and engaging. About the department As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set. The position is in the department of Purification Pilot Plants and part of Chemistry Manufacturing and Control (CMC) API Pilots. CMC API Pilots manufacture and control new drug substance candidates for the development portfolio at Novo Nordisk. Currently, 85 staff make up the department, and are split into five teams and five facilities. Our core tasks include the upscaling of processes and purification of proteins for toxicological and clinical studies. Our department consists of academics, specialists, interns and technicians.
