If yes, then you are who we are looking for to join our Transformation Office at APMT!
The APM Terminal Transformation Office, reporting into the COO of APM Terminals, is based both in the Hague and Copenhagen. The team supports APM Terminals on its strategic journey. We perform this role partly as challengers (“how can you double impact in half the time?”) and mostly as an accelerator/support team (“How can we help you drive this forward?”).
The Transformation office is intended as an internal career acceleration platform in APMT (and Maersk) with a clear ambition to develop and groom leaders in APMT.
APMT is undergoing an all-encompassing transformation from a multi-local, loosely coupled portfolio of individual terminals towards an integrated, best-in-class global terminal operator and stevedore. We casually refer to the journey as ‘from freestyle to franchise’.
The transformation involves developing and rolling out APMT’s Way of Working, built around a common operating system founded on Lean principles. It also entails a fundamental overhaul of our (digital) enterprise architecture to enable data-fueled business decisions, and cross-pollination of standard processes across our operations, including Automation.
Finally, the transformation aims to embed a culture of joint problem solving, (local) entrepreneurship and a collaborative mindset across our organization, including stronger linkages between our HQ- and frontline teams.
As part of the APMT Transformation Office we can offer you:
• You will be working in a team with 5 talented colleagues with substantial experience from both consulting and frontline work;
• You will have direct insight into APMT’s strategic agenda and access to the Senior Management Team (SMT);
• You will be exposed to senior level stakeholders across the globe, driving the transformation journey across APMT;
• The role furthermore offers exposure to the wider Maersk transformation agenda, which – like APMT – has a significant digital transformation element;
• As part of APMT you will be exposed to the Lean for all toolbox, ensuring you continued growth through structural learning.
The Transformation Office is headed by Jonas Bengtson, who reports into Keith Svendsen (Chief Operating Officer at APMT). The Team further consists of 2 senior transformation partners and 2 transformation partners, with the aim to hire two business analysts.
In addition to acting as a Challenger and Accelerator, the team also manages and facilitates the strategic transformation agenda and dialogue together with the Senior Management Team (SMT). Key meetings involve Monthly Transformation Board meetings, quarterly SMT offsite, and other ad hoc strategy- and transformation-oriented meetings with CEO, COO and other SMT members with a weekly cadence.
As a business analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the transformation partners on the various transformational projects across APMT.
Specific tasks include:
• Support transformation partners on driving transformation streams (e.g. preparing problem solving sessions, workshop materials, reports etc.)
• Support the preparation and facilitation of ‘accelerator’ workshops for key transformation topics (with regional- and functional leaders)
• Support the strategic transformation dialogue at SMT level (prepare offsites, strategy days, SMT monthly meetings)
As an ideal candidate, you have a relevant degree combined with 1-2 years of experience from a top tier management consulting firm.
You have a proven performance track record and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Furthermore, you are/have:
• Comfortable working in a complex and fast-moving environment; fast to output, tenacious, resourceful and
• Well-developed analytical strategic mindset and strong in problem solving
• Strong verbal- and written communication skills; able to present complex business issues in a to-be-point manner that allows for effective decision making
• Curious by nature and have a natural industry interest in terminals/ports, shipping, logistics;
• Ability to work across functions and disciplines and engage with all levels of organization, from CEO to terminal quay.
