Do you want to take part in creating the cell therapies of the future? Do you have the knowledge, experience, and ethics required to drive the successful in vitro testing and development of cellular shipping and delivery formulations in combination with their delivery devices? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious, and multidisciplinary environment? Then apply today and join our efforts to bring safe and effective cell therapies into the clinic and out to improve the lives of people living with serious chronic diseases. The positions
We are expanding our team and are looking for two scientists (2-year positions with the possibility to extent) with expertise relevant to the in vitro testing of formulations and the combination of delivery device, formulation, and cells. These tasks cover a multidisciplinary area of cell biology, formulation characterization, microfluidics, biomaterial characterization and in vitro assay development. You will support the progression of our Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Heart Failure cell therapy programs in Cell Therapy R&D. Your main tasks will include:
• Supporting the team with hands on experiments and in-depth knowledge contributing to the development and maturation of cell formulations enabling the progression of our Parkinson’s Disease and Heart Failure cell therapy programs towards global clinical adoption.
• Being part of our internal and external project teams and responsible for in vitro study designs and execution, assay read-outs, interpretation of results, and communicating and discussing conclusions with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and collaborators across our organization. Qualifications
The position requires curiosity, adaptability, and a creative mindset together with good time and resource management skills. You need to thrive in an environment where we work in collaborative teams and rely on each other; e.g., for technical, strategic, regulatory, and clinical expertise - making communication is an essential skill. To succeed in this role, you have:
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering, pharmaceutical, biological, biomedical sciences, or a related field. Experience and understanding of in vitro study design,
• hands on-experience in assay development, cell biology and/or biomedical engineering is advantageous.
• Prior knowledge about GLP, GMP, and regulatory frameworks are an advantage but not a prerequisite. About the department
The Department of Cell Delivery & Formulation is a dynamic and diverse department in Cell Therapy R&D, a Transformational Research Unit (TRU) within Novo Nordisk. The TRU is unique in the sense that it covers the full R&D value chain, which means we function as an integrated unit, spanning from early research to GMP production, non-clinical, and clinical development in the same organization. Our department is part of the Research organization based in Måløv, Denmark and we are experts in cell formulations, cell delivery, cryopreservation, Stem Cell biology, cardiomyocyte biology and assay development (in vitro and ex vivo). We are 20 scientists, technicians and students divided into several teams. The Cell Delivery & Formulation team currently consists of 3 scientists and 2 technicians. We put emphasis on empowerment and a high degree of transparency in all that we do, and offer a dynamic, flexible, and positive working environment with opportunities to develop professionally while solving cutting-edge scientific challenges. We are driven by curiosity and desire to make a difference. Working at Novo Nordisk
At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change. We drive it. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future. We embrace the spirit of experimentation, striving for excellence without fixating on perfection. We never shy away from opportunities to develop, we
seize them. From research and development, through to manufacturing, marketing and sales – we’re all working to move the needle on patient care. Contact
