The position In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team consisting of approximately 10 drug safety/pharmacovigilance experts located in Denmark, including executing our safety strategy, safety signal detection plans and risk management activities within your area. You will work in a fast-paced and highly complex environment reflecting the increasing demands from regulatory authorities. Your job responsibilities will also include:
  • Setting direction for your team and contributing to quality improvement projects

  • Supervising the internal Novo Nordisk safety committees within the relevant therapeutic areas

  • Assuming responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, international communication and taking action will be essential parts of your workday

  • Close cooperation and interaction with other functional areas in Novo Nordisk, especially the Clinical Development team and Regulatory Affairs team

  • Qualifications We would like the ideal candidate to have the following:
  • A university degree in life sciences, which can include a MD and/or a PhD with a completed doctoral thesis

  • In-depth knowledge of drug development, along with a clear understanding of the R&D value chain

  • Several years of pharmaceutical industry experience in pharmacovigilance, medical/clinical development or regulatory affairs is preferred

  • Documented scientific training (e.g., PhD) and experience from interactions with regulatory authorities will be an advantage

  • Successful experience with people management is a plus

  • On a personal level, you embody remarkable personal integrity and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility. Your well-organized nature and effective communication skills contribute to your ability to thrive even under pressure. You are a strong driver and a dedicated team player, who thrives in a global environment of continuous development, and you are good at establishing contact and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels. Finally, you must be fluent in English (both written and spoken) and be an experienced user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook). About the department Safety Surveillance Rare Blood Disease team is part of Global Safety and is situated in Søborg, Denmark. We have global responsibility for the surveillance of all safety information for Novo Nordisk’s products that are currently marketed or under clinical development. This includes chairing the cross-functional safety committees, performing integrated safety evaluations and overall risk management for investigational compounds/devices and marketed products.
