The position The position is anchored in Centre for Functional Assays & Screening, where we focus on the design and execution of a variety of biologically relevant medium- and high-throughput screening assays. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with department Scientists and Laboratory Technicians to develop new cell-based potency assays. Furthermore, you will plan and execute in vitro biological screening assays with a focus on automated workflows. Your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to: Maintain and engineer mammalian cell cultures, e.g. transfection, transduction, knock-in, and knock-out. Develop and optimize tailormade cellular in vitro assays. Perform standard molecular biology tasks e.g. plasmid preparation, PCR and cloning. Plan and conduct experiments including screening cycles. Perform data analysis and keep records of experimental work. Furthermore, you can expect that you will take part in experimental troubleshooting and suggest continuous improvements of daily workflows in the department. Qualifications We are seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites: A relevant education as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent. Experience in working with mammalian cell culture. Hands-on experience with development and execution of in vitro biological assays e.g. reporter gene assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blotting, enzymatic assays, or qPCR. Molecular biology experience, or willingness to learn. Experience or interest in working with liquid handlers e.g. Biomek or Hamilton. Proficiency in English communication, both verbally and in writing. Research experience from the pharmaceutical industry is considered as an advantage but is not a requirement. About the Department Centre for Functional Assays & Screening (CFAS) is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk located in Måløv in the Copenhagen area of Denmark. We specialise in the design and execution of a variety of biologically relevant medium- and high-throughput screening assays with a strong focus on automation. As part of a matrix organisation, we deliver high quality in vitro data to support the screening of peptides, proteins, therapeutic antibodies, and novel RNAi based concepts to support the identification, optimisation, and characterisation of drug candidates across multiple projects to progress our projects portfolio in close collaboration through synergistic cross-organisational collaborations. CFAS consists of three sub-departments and currently consists of 16 Scientists, 5 Associate Scientists, 14 Technicians and two students. You will be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team exploring and identifying new treatment options for diabetes, obesity, MASH, cardiovascular and kidney disease, haemophilia, and other rare blood and endocrine disorders.
