The position
As a Senior Global Medical Manager/Global Medical Manager, you will be part of a highly motivated and high-performing team of primarily medical doctors with clinical, research and/or pharmaceutical experience, who are passionate about clinical drug development, scientific dialogue, and medical education/communication.
Among your main responsibilities, you will:
• provide timely, accurate and credible medical/scientific input to pipeline projects as well as disease area and medical education strategy
• collaborate and communicate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within their field of expertise, as well as internal stakeholders from Marketing, Patient Access, Clinical Drug Development, Regulatory Affairs, and other functional areas in the company
• be a trusted partner to provide medical input to clinical trial designs and eventually be responsible for driving the scientific dialogue and communication based on results from these trials
• support the development of internal training and guidance materials, as well driving external educational activities towards healthcare professionals
The job will give you the responsibility to connect with KOLs to gather medical and scientific information to help optimize product development and treatment of people with obesity. You will play a key role in the development of scientific publications based on our clinical trial results which requires your ability to interact with external authors, statisticians, medical writers, and other stakeholders.
You will be involved in the development and execution of the medical education strategy and will be expected to bring innovation and leverage multichannel engagement platforms. The position involves presentation of data and participation in international conferences and scientific meetings.
Additionally, you will guide other teams that are actively involved in development and execution of Novo Nordisk's commercial strategy including market development activities and development/review of promotional materials.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you:
• Are a Medical Doctor with clinical, research or pharmaceutical industry experience
• Have strong stakeholder management experience
• Proven track record of leading cross functional projects within an Real World Evidence (RWE)/ Health Economics/Outcomes Research (HEOR) or late-stage R&D (clinical, medical, regulatory) function
• RWE/HEOR/R&D value chain understanding
• Fluent in both spoken and written professional English
• Experience with multichannel engagement is an advantage
Having a Ph.D. or other relevant degree e.g. Master of Public Health or similar is considered as an advantage, but not mandatory – as well as experience within a Medical Affairs function.
On a personal level you are ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and confident. You are comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment with an innovative approach to problem solving and outside-the-box thinking. Empathy and a good sense of humour allow you to be a true team player in a very international and engaged environment.
We expect you to have strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to lead and drive cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
International travel of approximately 20% every year should be expected.
About the department
The Obesity department is part of Global Medical Affairs in Novo Nordisk HQ in Denmark and anchored in the Development organisation. The department primarily consists of skilled medical doctors who work closely with colleagues across HQ, as well as affiliate and regional offices around the world. The department is responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication across all phases of clinical drug development. Currently, the department covers a product in phase 3a for obesity, as well as initiatives to advance quality of care in obesity therapy area. We have a high sense of commitment, respect and strive for driving change in obesity through impactful engagements and interactions with key stakeholders in an open and engaging atmosphere.
