The position The Project Director is responsible towards project governance for the direction and progress of the clinical digital project(s) across the Obesity portfolio. This involves strategic execution and project management of 5D activities (Data, Drug, Device, Diagnostics and Digital) and development plans for integrated digital solutions, including software as a medical device (SaMD). Key responsibilities are: Chair the Obesity 5D portfolio team where the clinical obesity 5D strategies are shaped and strategic development options are recommended to relevant projects and governance boards. Project management of digital projects for the obesity portfolio. Planning and execution of initiatives to identify, evaluate and select projects in the digital obesity portfolio. Communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders globally including regulatory authorities. Tracking and reporting progress on the project activities to the Obesity Therapy Area cross-functional leadership team, and to governance bodies. Qualifications You have a Master’s degree in life science preferably complemented by a PhD and 5+ years of relevant experience with digital product development from the pharmaceutical industry. Strong understanding and experience in business and pharmaceutical value chain from positions within digital health, drug development or regulatory affairs where you have gained insights about the drug/device/digital development and life cycle management processes including project/managerial responsibility. Proven track record in successful project leadership (line management or cross-functional management), preferably from direct participation in project teams where you have set direction and make the team share a common vision while maintaining link to operational targets. Background with project planning tools and processes. Proficient written and oral English with excellent communication skills. As a person, you are highly structured and have an analytic mindset with strong process design and implementation capabilities. You creatively analyse business problems/issues to reach innovative, cost-effective, and timely decisions; and drive continuous improvement. You have strong business planning skills and the ability to provide strategic recommendations, and influence and challenge senior stakeholders. Overall, you can create strong professional networks internally and externally for successful collaboration. About the department The Obesity, Liver Diseases & Devices project area is anchored in Clinical Drug Development as part of the Development organisation. We are responsible for an exciting pipeline of clinical development projects in Obesity & Liver Diseases and our trial activities range from phase 1 to phase 4. We collaborate closely across many skill areas. You will be part of a high performing culture with focus on patient needs, science, cross-functional collaboration, and personal development.
