If YES, we strongly urge you to apply for the vacant position as Associate Scientist in our team focusing on biopharmaceutical analytical development – in the department of Biopharm Analytical Development, CMC D&D.

In this role, you will be an active part of laboratory work as well as implementing the 2030 strategy related to antibody analytical capabilities in LEO Pharma CMC D&D. You will contribute to our antibody projects from research to launch. In this role you will develop your skills within characterization and stability evaluation of Biopharmaceutical products, and you will be offered great opportunities to develop yourself as analytical scientist.

The job


As associate analytical scientist you will join a team of 13 highly skilled and experienced analytical scientists and technicians, all with the focus on developing antibody based products from research to launch. All our projects are run as external partnerships with extensive CDMO/CRO collaborations. Our department is responsible for all analytical activities throughout the full development value chain for monoclonal antibodies, including; Drug Substance/Drug Product characterization, characterization and identification of impurities and degradations products, stability studies, various screening studies e.g. related to formulation development and analytical work related to IMPD/CTD documentation. In the department we work in close collaboration with two departments: Biopharm Process Development and Biopharm Product Development.

Your main tasks will be:


  • To work in the laboratory on a daily basis in collaboration with other scientists and technicians
  • Planning, conducting and documenting internal experimental work in electronic labbooks
  • To develop analytical methods and screening tools
  • To work with conventional protein analytical methods like UPLC (e.g. SEC-UV, SEC-MALS, CIEX, HIC), CE-SDS, CIEF, intrinsic fluorescence detection and dynamic light scattering.
  • To supervise and guide lab technicians
  • Maintenance of laboratory instruments


Your qualifications


  • Master’s degree within natural sciences
  • During your education or previous work experience you have gained a clear understanding of protein structures and structural stability challenges
  • During your education or previous work you obtained hands-on experience with protein analysis and characterization, data evaluation, analytical and instrumental trouble shooting

As a person you are curious, open and interested in knowledge sharing. You are capable of working with several tasks in parallel and enjoy a work environment where the map is drawn as we go. You can work independently, but you see great value in working as a team.
