Postdoc in the area of Cardiovascular and exercise physiology with focus on microvascular function

We seek a talented and ambitious postdoc with expertise in cardiovascular physiology and exercise physiology to participate in project on cardiac microvascular disease.
In a large fraction of patients, ischemic heart disease is attributed to coronary microvascular dysfunction, a condition termed INOCA- Ischemiawith No Obstructive Coronary Artery disease. The project aims to identify mechanisms underlying microvascular dysfunction in INOCA through invasive mechanistic assessments of peripheral microvascular function in patients with cardiac ischemia, as well as by studies on a mouse model of coronary microvascular dysfunction. Moreover, the impact of exercise training on the disease and underlying mechanisms will be explored.
As postdoc in this project you will be part of a team of clinical and basic academic researchers and PhD students who, in a collaborative effort, uniquely will combine multiple models from clinical assessment, and in vitro models such as langendorff preparation, vascular myography and proteomics.
Your duties as postdoc will include research within the field of cardiovascular physiology, microvascular regulation and exercise physiology. You will be responsible for organizing and overseeing all aspects of the project together with the principal investigators. The post also includes some teaching duties and may include other duties. As postdoc in this project we expect you to have experience and solid skills in:
In addition, it is expected that you are a team player who is open to lending a helping hand whenever needed in the project and that you are willing to learn new methods if required.

- Organization and execution of human intervention studies
- Conducting testing related to exercise physiology
- Organization and execution of human exercise training interventions
- Determination of muscle microvascular function by pharmacological infusions
- Determination of blood flow and echocardiography by ultrasound Doppler
In addition, it is expected that you are a team player who is open to lending a helping hand whenever needed in the project and that you are willing to learn new methods if required.
