Department of Translational Technology has an opening for a talented and motivated Associate Scientist with a keen interest in bioanalysis immunoassay methods for a temporary position of 24 months.

The position
You will be involved in our portfolio of discovery projects by developing and qualifying immunoassays (e.g. ELISA, AlphaLISA, MSD, Gyrolab) with a main focus on translational target engagement biomarker assays.
Dependent on the task, you are expected to work independently by planning experiments and proactively conduct the laboratory work in collaboration with colleagues within the department and across the research organisation in cross-functional project teams.

You will:

  • Be responsible for a significant amount of laboratory-based work tasks
  • Identify and resolve experimental issues when developing and characterising biomarker assays for use in animal or human samples.
  • Perform and report quantitative bioanalysis of animal study samples

With your expertise in immunoassays you are able to design assays and critically analyse and interpret experimental data. In addition, you will assist in the development of novel workflows, with focus on employment of automation technologies and efficient data handling methodologies.

Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree in life sciences (e.g. biotechnology, immunology, biomedicine, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline) preferably with two years of experience from an industry or academic setting. It is crucial that you have experience in developing and working with immunoassays in biological matrices including troubleshooting of these. Experience with automated or semi-automated instrumentation as well as flair for programming or statistics will be considered an advantage.

  • You enjoy working in teams to share knowledge, have an ability to build networks and possess good communication skills.

Candidates at Ph.D. level will not be considered for this position.

About the Department
Translational Technology is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk and is located in a modern R&D facility in Måløv. Our responsibilities include development of immunoassays for translational assessment of new drug candidates. The department currently consists of 11 scientists and 3 technicians highly skilled in development of immunoassays and mass spectrometry methods for proteomics. Global Research Technologies is organised in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams and we work in a flexible, highly collaborative and cross-functional setting.
