Our Oral Protein Formulation Unit (OPF) is looking for a dedicated, professional and enthusiastic new colleague. We are on a voyage towards the development and production of break-through oral formulations of proteins.

About the team

Oral Analytical Development is part of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development, a sub-division of Research & Development.

We are responsible for solid state characterization and development and validation of analytical methods. Furthermore, we are responsible for analytical support and QC release of oral protein products for preclinical and clinical trials.

The job
You will be joining a team of dedicated colleagues, both scientists and laboratory technicians. As Analytical Scientist within spectroscopy, you will be responsible for analytical development and validation of spectroscopic methods including NIR (Near-infrared spectroscopy) and LIF (Light Induced Fluorescence) for solid dose formulations.

In particular, you:

  • ensure documentation of the analytical work to the right quality level and maintain the quality system in the team.
  • ensure that spectroscopic equipment is validated and functioning for the purpose.
  • take part in planning your work and establish a constructive collaboration with our internal stakeholders including Oral formulation and process development, Quality Assurance, Production and Global Research.

This position is newly established and represents a great opportunity to make a visible difference in how we use NIR/LIF technologies for development of our oral products. You will also get the opportunity to engage in sharing and applying best practices across Novo Nordisk.

Qualifications
You hold an MSc or PhD in Pharmacy, Engineering or a related field combined with a background from the pharmaceutical industry. We expect that you have experience with chemometrics, development and validation of NIR methods for powders and tablets is desirable. You are familiar with regulatory requirements for NIR and Good Manufacturing Practice.

Knowledge of Matlab and Partial Least Square toolbox would be an advantage.
