About the department
In Global Research Technologies we design, produce and formulate compounds for Novo Nordisk´s research pipeline. In close collaboration with Global Drug Discovery we are building a new, innovative laboratory automation platform for generation and characterization of our future drug candidates. You will become part of a new team that will implement and support this platform. You have the unique opportunity to contribute with your experience and your knowledge to the success of this ambitious and ground-breaking endeavour.
The position
As our new Automation Application Specialist, you will manage the scheduling and cell operation software for our new laboratory automation platform and you will support the interfaces towards other IT systems in close collaboration with colleagues from the Research Applications department. You will support users of the automation platform both in the implementation and execution of methods.
This will include the generation of methods and scripting (among others in C#). You will collaborate closely with a variety of internal stakeholders in the implementation of projects. We offer a multifaceted research environment where we work closely together with dedicated colleagues across the organization, including core facility specialists within the disease-areas, cell culture and protein technology fields. The position offers excellent opportunities for developing personal competences within an international organization.
Qualifications
You have a degree within IT, automation, chemical engineering or another relevant field, and sound experience in laboratory automation. You have significant knowledge in scripting languages incl. C#, Java object oriented programming, relational databases and preferentially you are a trained user of scheduling software such as Cellario, Overlord, plate::works or Momentum.
You should also have a proven track record of programming and operating liquid handling platforms such as Tecan, Beckman, Hamilton or Dynamic Devices. Moreover, you have experience with integration of laboratory equipment with LIMS systems, inventory systems and data lakes. You are dedicated, open-minded, have good communication skills and are capable of working in cross-functional teams. Mobility during the introduction phase of the platform is a clear advantage.
