We are seeking a Field Application Specialist to join our Imaging, Detection, Protein and SamplePrep Team. You will be working closely with our current and potential customers in the Biopharma Sector to match our cutting-edge products and scientific instruments to their needs, helping us to win new business, expand our market share and drive long term sales.

The specific products you will specialize in include a range of Imaging Systems, Magnetic Particle Processors and Microplate Readers, used within the lab or manufacturing environment for a number of purposes including: cell imaging, sample prep and western blot.

You will work with the Business Development Team throughout the sales process, supporting them with your specialist scientific knowledge in Protein/Cell Biology and Microscopy to help them win new business.

This is a field-based role, involving extensive travel across the EMEA region, with a focus on the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. We can be very flexible on candidate location but are particularly interested in candidates based in the UK, Ireland and Norway.

What you will do:

  • Provide on-site and remote scientific application support & training support to our customers on our products
  • Perform product demonstrations and training at customer or company sites
  • Play a major role when introducing and supporting new products and applications
  • Prepare and present seminars on the company and our products to a wide array of audiences
  • Use in-depth troubleshooting skills to solve customer queries/complaints/technical issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide internal feedback on technical problems and their respective solutions and share expertise & knowledge amongst the team
  • Maintain up-to-date technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of our product portfolio
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service


Who we are looking for: experience, skills & abilities
  • MSc or higher degree in Biological Sciences, or equivalent industry/lab-based experience
  • Laboratory experience to include expertise in Protein and/or Cell Biology applications and/or Microscopy
  • Experience in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Customer-facing experience an asset
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work in line with the goals of a commercial organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical reports and apply mathematical and statistical data analysis
  • Very strong communication skills; capable of interacting with a diverse population of internal and external stakeholders
  • Willing to travel extensively across EMEA region and internationally as required, including frequent overnights and occasional evenings/weekends
  • Fluent in English, additional European languages a plus
  • Full driving licence
