As a Middle Mile Procurement Category Manager, you will join our ambitious Land Transportation team in Maersk Procurement, with colleagues in Australia, Netherlands, Spain and Denmark.
Land Transportation -- including trucking, rail, barge and related services -- is the engine of Maersk's growth and transformation and is the key driver to help us in our missions to integrate the world's supply chains and decarbonize logistics.
What the role is about:
As our Middle Mile Category Manager, you will drive our global procurement strategy for non-containerized transportation, set direction, help set up structures and systems and then share best practices to the 26 frontline Procurement teams across the world.
You will also drive standardization and modernization on how we approach the Middle Mile product family.
Specifically, you will:
- Work closely with the newly established Middle Mile Product Management team in Center and with frontline Procurement teams to define our product catalogue for non-containerized transportation services
- Develop the category strategy for Middle Mile, and link it to the product roadmap and business requirements
- Drive category performance, standards, and compliance by defining and monitoring key process and performance indicators
- Build and then lead a global Middle Mile Procurement Community, driving engagement and best practices sharing and adoption
- Support the roll out of our global TMS system and other digital transformation initiatives e.g., rate digitization and procurement automation
- Document category market know-how, procurement best practices and success stories and drive their implementation
Besides your category responsibilities, you will take active participation in setting the direction for our team. You will represent procurement in cross-functional strategic workstreams and ensure that we are creating a real impact across Maersk.
You are the right person for the job if you have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate procurement, supply chain or commercial role in Maersk or a similar international company
- Outstanding customer-oriented business acumen with effective technical knowledge in non-containerized trucking services
- Ability to drive change management and in lead digital transformations within Procurement across the Procure to Pay processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you can build rapport with people on all levels and have a top-tier facilitation and coaching toolkit
- Proactive personality – you can take ownership, work independently and achieve results as a team player
- Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team
The job is based in Copenhagen and travel will be expected as part of the position.
