About the department

RDIT Global Research Solutions supports the strategic digital transformation of our global research units at Novo Nordisk A/S which is needed to realise the R&D strategy.

We are responsible for maintaining and develop the Data-, Middleware - and IT infrastructure used by the Global Research Units across Novo Nordisk A/S. On premise and in the cloud. And we participate in the major strategic IT programmes within Global Research.

We take pride in being experts in IT infrastructure and at the same time having experience and understanding of how our researchers use the platforms, data and the compute power we make available.

The position

As an Advanced IT Infrastructure Cloud Engineer, you have the leadership responsibility of ensuring that our current infrastructure is running seamlessly. Further you take leadership in developing our future need for cloud technologies, HPC, data labs etc.

You will be leading technically and working in our DevOps team responsible for our Scientific Computing Infrastructure, handling both issues, problems and change request, as well as participating in sprints developing the platforms.

Our scientific users are situated globally, and you will be working in an international environment with colleges around the globe.

Qualifications

You have a Master’s degree with a large focus on IT, Scientific Computing and/or Pharma and you have a high passion for working with IT. And you have a proven track record of putting your skills in to work.

Preferably you have a history of working with IT in the research domain from your current career or alternatively from the university.

Further it is an advantage if you are proficient within R, Java and Python and know technologies like HPC, Spark and HPC Schedulers (Like PBSPro, SGE), Linux, Configuration Management (Like Puppet, Ansible), Kubernetes, SQL.

Lastly it is an advantage to have a good understanding and preferably experience with cloud concepts like Saas, PaaS and Iaas and database technologies, datacentre setup and design.

This is a job for a person that is exited to work with new technologies and able to quickly learn new concepts. You are team oriented and have a strong personal drive to achieve goals. We expect you to be service-minded and thrive in a busy environment. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
