About the department
Our clinical trial operation activities are anchored in our R&D organisation under Global Development. We plan and execute clinical trials to produce the high quality data and scientific documentation required by health authorities to turn our promising pipeline of exciting new medicines for chronic diseases into marketable projects. As a Trial Start-up Manager, you may be planning and initiating trials ranging from small and complex haemophilia projects to large cardiovascular outcome projects with thousands of subjects. Taking on this central, international role is a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth in a global company.
The position
As Trial Start-up Manager, you apply your trial management expertise to meticulously planning and preparing international clinical trials. You are responsible for all trial start-up activities from protocol outline to initiation of patient recruitment are performed, including developing all documents, training materials and manuals needed to initiate the trial. You deliver a turn-key setup, enabling your colleagues to take over and successfully complete it. In planning the trials, you will also be expected to drive a change in how we set up clinical trials at Novo Nordisk. Everything from how we improve efficiency and speed to how we implement our digital strategy is on the table. Your success indicators include:
- Ensuring that patient centricity is integrated in all our trial activities and documents
- Identifying trial risks and ensuring that mitigation plans are in place
- Driving and providing operational input to new clinical assessments
- Building excellent vendor relations
The job is based in Søborg, Denmark but has a global scope. Limited travelling can be expected.
Qualifications
You hold a MSc in Natural Science with at least four years of relevant experience, or a BSc in Natural Science or equivalent with at least five years of relevant experience. You have in-depth knowledge about clinical trial methodology and solid experience in setting up clinical trials. Most importantly, you bring a creative mindset and a strong vision for the future of clinical trials in Novo Nordisk. You have the outlook and personality to drive changes in the way we work, looking to optimise everything from how we use digital tools to make meetings more productive.
As a person, you are a high performer with excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. You create consensus across professional and geographical borders and build trust among colleagues to establish mutually profitable working relationships throughout the organisation. When dealing with external parties, you come across with confidence and openness, always safeguarding Novo Nordisk’s reputation as a company with high focus on business ethics.
