Are you driven by teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to solve challenging business tasks? Do you strive to create change by establishing new, better manufacturing processes that help save lives across the globe daily? Then Novo Nordisk Kalundborg invites you to be part of our team and come work at the largest insulin production facility in the world. You get to leave your footprint on solutions that make a big difference to the lives and health of millions of patients. Your successful career continues with us being a chemical engineer by joining the ´Manufacturing Intelligence´ department established in 2018 at Novo Nordisk in Kalundborg.
About the Department
You get the opportunity to join an expanding, international, high performing team of 6 people in Kalundborg, responsible for the ´Manufacturing Intelligence´ program focusing on production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The primary goal of the program is to identify relevant data and turn a large amount of manufacturing data from various systems into knowledge and drive business results based on that knowledge. The team consists of project managers and experts in chemistry, engineering, and computer science.
In close collaboration with key internal stakeholders in production and business support functions, we establish an analytical platform integrating three dimensions: manufacturing management processes, IT infrastructure and business priorities. Evolution of Manufacturing Intelligence is following from performance measurement (analysis) to predictive modelling to decision making (optimisation).
The projects listed but not limited to the following scope below:
Reconciliation: Waste & Loss accounting, Bill of Materials calculation in Real-Time
Build a system infrastructure enabling implementation of a software monitoring/visualizing the reconciliation in the process and facilitate identification of unknown waste areas and potentially introduce other/new key parameter to visualize process performance.
Production Process Monitoring in Real-Time
Live production data stream for shop-floor users aimed to alert on any changes and process deviations from the baseline as well as correlations and total effects on other upstream and downstream production nodes in order to both react to existing issues and foresee any coming.
Dynamic Raw Material Supply Planning
Reduce supply planning operational bias and increase forecast accuracy via “Loss accounting & Bill of Materials calculations” technology. Implement traceability of Stocks and Production planning (consumption forecast) accuracy.
Fermentation concentration prediction (optimum production time)
Establish visibility of product concentration on current running batches in real-time and increase the mean product concentration based on machine learning models. To focus on identification of the main contributors to the overall variation. The ideal time to stop a batch is identified based on production economy for each running batch in the real-time.
Recovery process Tank Load optimization and prediction (optimum load)
Predictive analytics algorithms in Recovery process of insulin production are aimed to control flow through production columns based on continuous flow of concentration prediction and process losses of concentration before column in insulin production process. Flow recommendations take the product concentration, the column state and the flow history of each column into account and machine learning to enhance accuracy over incoming dynamic data analysis.
The position
You will support the implementation of Manufacturing Intelligence program using proven technologies to meet quality, cost, schedule, and performance goals. Also you serve as an Expert in the implementation of Material Balance and Production Accounting solutions in manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
