Then you can be one of our process engineers for API manufacturing in Novo Nordisk.
About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is responsible for manufacturing all Insulin-based products. You will be assigned to Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), the world’s largest Insulin API manufacturing facility located in Kalundborg. IM1 has 5 facilities operating under one roof. You will be employed in Purification Part III, a group of 16 skilled colleagues all working together to ensure that API is purified and released.
The department of Purification lies at the interface between Upstream manufacturing, where the initial API is generated and Product formulation where the API is formulated into the final product for the patient. Purification plays an important role in API manufacturing because it is responsible for generating the final API, purifying it to a high quality and ensuring that product is supplied to the next stage in the supply chain for access to the patient. In Purification Part III, the team is responsible for the spray drying process, an important process step in the API manufacturing process landscape. Therefore, advance data analysis, process monitoring, dialogue with key stakeholders and recommendations for process improvements-optimizations are crucial.
The position
We are looking for someone who is motivated by and enjoys analyzing data, making sense of that data using descriptive and prescriptive analytics and, developing and maintaining process monitoring systems. Specifically, you will:
- Analyze large amounts of data for extracting correlation and causation for process understanding
- Develop and maintain statistical process control charts for process monitoring
- Use a data-based approach for quantifying process deviations
- Use a team-based approach for recommending process improvements-optimizations
This job gives you a great opportunity to play a part in shaping the future of bioprocessing across the organization, in close collaboration with teach-transfer and manufacturing in Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
The candidate should have the following or developing qualifications:
- An MSc and/or PhD in chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering
- Experience with (study-line, courses, industrial) data analysis and/or process control
- Ability to analyze data and independently extract information
- Experience with data analysis tools. An asset but not a requirement would be familiarization with one or more off the following tools: SAS JMP, Python or any other tools
- Understanding of how to convey complex information to varying audiences and thereby, explain the purpose to get everyone onboard
- An appetite for solving complex problems applying a systems approach to manage complexity and reach feasible applicable solution
- Can or willing to learn Danish
The standard position is limited to 2 years. However, based on candidate and job requirements the length of this will be discussed individually in the interviews.
